  1. The COC is refusing to fund the women's handball that qualified. If they don't get funding, it will be difficult for them to participate.

  10. Canada's first 2019 Pan American Games team was announced, in bowling. The two men are returning from Toronto 2015, where they won a gold in the doubles event.
  11. Canada will send 16 swimmers to Lima (+4 more in open water). Only 2 men were selected, meaning no relays. Canada won medals in all 3 men's relay events in Toronto 2015. https://www.swimming.ca/en/news/2019/04/07/canadas-pan-am-swimming-team-announced/ Smh, at how stupid this national federation is. Anyways, the team has some notable names, which leaves me some hope for at least one gold medal (but I highly doubt it)
  12. 25 swimmers will represent Canada in Gwangju. Surprisingly more men were added to the team than women. https://swimswam.com/canada-names-25-to-2019-world-championship-team/
  13. Home field advantage in boxing
  14. Final Boxing Quotas @vinipereira (only change is that Peru will get 3 more quotas max) +12 +11 +11 +10 +10 +8 +7 +6 +6 +6 +4 +4 +4 +4 +3 +2 +2 +2 +2 +1 +1 +1 +1 +1 +1

  17. Peru was fifth and got the last spot. http://www.ianseo.net/TourData/2019/5335/IFRWQ.php
  18. Canadian Trials, day four results (world qualifiers/A standard listed ) Women's 200m freestyle Penny Oleksiak, 1:56.92 Taylor Ruck, 1:56.97 Kayla Sanchez, 1:58.28 Rebecca Smith, 1:58.64 Top 2 will race the individual race, the other two will make up the 4x200 relay. Men's 200m freestyle Markus Thormeyer, 1:47.60 Alexander Pratt, 1:48.74 Jeremy Bagshaw, 1:49.03 Carson Olafson, 1:49.59 No one qualified individually, all will compete just in the 4x200 relay Men's 200m butterfly Mack Darragh, 1:56.68 Women's 50m breaststroke Faith Knelson, 31.02 *Needs to qualify in another Olympic event to compete (does not look likely, as all the breaststroke events are done) *No qualifiers in the women's 200m butterfly or men's 50m breaststroke. However, in the 200m butterfly women's events, 12 year old Summer McIntosh swam the race in 2:15.24 to finish fifth
  19. Peru didn't qualify a full team, they were only awarded one quota per recurve event.
  20. Another young track cyclist has taken their life it seems... https://cyclingmagazine.ca/sections/news/former-canadian-national-team-member-charlotte-creswicke-passes-away/
  21. FWIW, Panamsports did not publish his name as list of qualifiers.
  22. @mrv86 So apparently there was some sort of confusion/mistake in a matchup between and at the boxing qualifiers. originally won, but the decision was overturned, and was given the decision (and the Lima 2019 quota). Any details?
  23. Oh wow. That's just dumb. They should have chosen before the competition. They have sent boxers in all categories minus 3, so I assumed AMBC provided them with just 3 host quotas (the qualification document says max of 7)
  24. I would guess the bronze medalist who lost to the other finalist in the semifinals.
  25. Do you know where Peru used its host quotas?
