  1. Nice bronze medal in mixed skeet for Mexico
  2. Some “unusual” competitors in diving entries:
  3. British male ice dancer has Mexican ancestry; his given name “ATL” means water in nahuatl language.
  4. First podium for a Mexican cyclist in a UCI World Tour event: Isaac del Toro finishes third in the general classification and is also the best junior rider
  5. Quotas for & in men’s skeet
  6. Isaac del Toro has won the second stage of the Tour Down Under Biggest achievement by a Mexican rider in the last 30 years.
  7. Renata Zarazúa qualifies for her second Grand Slam
  8. Quotas for &. Panam Games reallocation go to &
  9. Quotas for & in men’s air rifle
  10. Uruguay is also mathematically qualified, if I’m not mistaken, as their net score could not surpass 205, meaning also Brazil has a quota.
  11. And the local authorities seem to back the idea of Guadalajara being considered as the replacement host: https://x.com/for_ortega13/status/1742721175959023981?s=46&t=9vS5uQBNQ2F0H_cquGNQGQ
  12. The main problem, as with the Olympics, is the demand for large, new state of the art venues, plus the costs of building an athletes village, that could only realistically building a main one, with smaller "satellite" village as part of urban renovation/public housing proyects. Other than that, I think that regional projects could work better, with 2 or 3 main cities in the same country hosting the events.
  13. Agree. Paraguay is a no go for the "senior" Panam Games. It's either return to Lima or Miami, if they gather local support. I'd love to have them back in Guadalajara, most of the venues remain in place, the exception being the athletics stadium (although they could use temporal stands in the small venue they had for last year's Gay Games) and the athletes village (but with the local governments being in a vertical rise bonanza, it could be solved with one or two urbanizations).
  14. In Mexico you have 3 traditions, depending to which part of the country you live. Central and Southern Mexico are more team “Reyes” so kids there expect to find their gifts on January 6th. Northern Mexico is team “Santa” in larger cities, but the rural areas also celebrate the Wise Men. And mi city, is the only ones where kids write a letter to Baby Jesus asking for gifts.
  15. Merry Christmas to those who celebrate the holiday! Hope you enjoy(ed)/are enjoying the festivities with your loved ones, and receive lots of hugs and gifts. My best wishes for you.
  16. Renata Zarazua wins Montevideo 125! First win for a Mexican women in singles
  17. Well, no surprises, as Australia also gets the quotas in women’s springboard (Georgia Sheehan) and men’s platform (Samuel Fricker).
  18. 1st day quotas: Men’s springboard: Shixin Li Women’s Springboard: Nikita Hains Well, surprise, surprise the Aussies get both quotas. Hains and Li performed better than the rest of the small field, there’s no doubt, although in women’s competition the other athletes had rather forgettable performances, and in men’s, Liam Stone from New Zealand is not in best physical shape, carrying a slight injury. Let’s see if tomorrow can snatch the quota in women’s springboard.
  19. I hate airconditioned spaces, as they hurt my throat very easily. Even long flights can make me get as ore throat.
