I wouldn't say that, I think not even in the athletics. Very well would mean top 5 - top 10 in the medals table, I'm not sure about results but I don't think we're there.

Well, not quite big but there were some medals in the past. Nowadays however situation got worse and there's only hope for the future.

It is very strange, indeed. But Eurosport Romania isn't what I expect from them lately. For example, we always get football on Saturdays during the Premier League season, from 1 pm to late evening, covering usually 4 live matches plus highlights. I would be happy for example with a 2 hour extended highlights with 2 or 3 replies during the week. Other sports have to suffer because of this policy. And last weekend they had the Motorcycle 24 hour Ball d'Or and instead I couldn't watch the Aragonese Moto GP round.... And during the winter season I already expect to watch Ski Jumping or other events close to Saturday midnight with more than 10 hours delay... Shame is to be shared also by the usual national sports broadcaster TVR but they never presented the Athletics World Championships. Instead I can watch there the all the matches from the Rugby World Championship even if Romania didn't qualify which is a nice effort from them.

Essex won the final but my hopes to see Wiltshire at this level too are hopeless, I think.

Well, it's only today I realised I can't watch the World Championships anywhere on TV. It's so sad and it's a shame and I don't understand how Eurosport who used to cover it in the past can show us programes about past Olympics heros and teams and Athletics European Team Cup (or something like this) but they won't broadcast the IAAF Athletics W.Ch. Unbelievable.......

Hehe, right, the Diamond League. However I usually follow the World Championships as much as I can but during a Diamond League night there is always some football on TV.

Well, I'd like to say two things. I am "tabula rasa" at this contest, don't have a clue about recent results in athletics and I haven't followed the Golden League in many seasons, hehe. Secondly, I edited my post to replace Almaz Ayana from my podium predictions in that race without checking if contest rules allow it, I hope it's ok with editing, if not I'm prepared to suffer the consequences.

I have to confess I missed all the matches this week, only checked the scores later, I hope to be able to watch some weekend matches. Impressive Uruguay, I think they improved very much recently. And how about latest USA-England war, USA scores a try against the Red Rose, for as much as concerns the politics Trump always praises Boris Johnson.

For more than 10 years now. Unfortunately I didn't attend any Romanian NT or Romanian clubs matches, only watched cricket on Eurosport some years ago and YouTube. And of course I followed IPL some years ago when it was live on YouTube. Hyderabad Sunrise were my favorite.

I don't like this system. Good teams don't get the chance to progress to the knock-out stage (in this case quarter-finals). Maybe IRB ough to think about what changes can be made. It's sad to see Argentina or France or England go home after the group stage. Or should I say this time Wales or Scotland/Ireland were lucky with the draw? Either way, it doesn't look fair.

I wonder if Chris Gayle will play again this season in Pakistani T20 or Bangladesh T20 league (I'm not sure which one was last season or if there were both ) before (and if) he takes on giants from IPL next April.

Well, I suspect the Greeks have to do a little with all the names in the Middle East antiquity. In Romanian we call him Cyrus also, to not mention Cambises for instance, it's easier to pronounce than having to pronounce the Iranian name. As far as I can see by the time of the Abbasyd Caliphate the Sasanid Empire was already conquered and by the end of this dinasty the Arabs and Chinese were already foes in south-eastern nowadays Kazakhstan. Yeah, today we are fighting each other for resources and markets but the war is mainly run on the economy side. Everybody is at war with everybody. I think that the "national" reason why we fought wars in the past is outdated today.
