Here's something I've been working on the past few days.  A one-stop-shop database for international events, as well as continental and national events pertinent to the USA.

Features:

Tab 1 - Calendar
 
All columns filter-able to find anything specifically.
 
Column A. Start Date
Column B: End Date
Column C: Sport
Column D: Discipline Code (using the list on the Sports tab) - Use this to find when a specific event will be contested
Column E: Contest Title
Columns F-R: For events that have passed, you should be able to click a + box on the left to expand and see results for that event.  You have which place, name, and IOC code.
Also Column Q will link to highlights/replays of the event, usually on YouTube.
Column S: City
Column T: Country
Column U: I = International event, C = Continental event, N = National event

Links to official sites, FB, Insta, and YouTube for each of the federations, as well as dates of championships for easy viewing

List of all medal events in LA28, given a code for ease of filtering/searching
 
 
It's not finished...I've done 18 sports out of 40something.  Will be working on it the next few weeks.  I tried to focus on those sports that are contested now.
 
If you want to take it and add your own continental/national events, that's fine.  I have a couple of other tricks/tips if you want to build your own.
 
Also, for events like Squash, Badminton, Tennis, and Equestrian, where there are a lot of international events, I tended to only take the top few tiers (like WTA 1000, 750, and 500, but nothing less for tennis).

No Crocodile Concerns - Olympic Rowing Course, Fitzroy River - Rockhampton

Crocodile farm owner John Lever, who has been working with the animals for more than 40 years, said the population in the river should not be a concern and could be managed.
"I think we have to look at it sensibly. It's a great opportunity ... it's a fabulous river," Mr Lever said.
 
"Crocodiles are most active at night and there won't be night-time activities. Crocs are actively feeding at the water's edge and the rowing will be held over deep water."
 
Mr Lever is a long-time advocate of the government re-categorising the stretch of the river where rowing is held as an active removal zone to have crocodiles surveyed, trapped and removed.
 
He said crocodiles were less active in winter when the Olympics were expected to be held (in July/August winter time).
 
"You're more likely to get hit by a bus on the way to the boat ramp than you are to be taken by a croc," he said.
 
"In the winter time when the water temperatures go right down, the crocodiles become lethargic and don't eat much because they can't digest food.”
 
 

The IGF have announced the format for golf’s mixed team event at LA 2028.
36-hole event over 2 days Teams of 2 players (1 male/1 female) Maximum one team per nation and teams will be made up of players from individual events. Day 1: Foursomes (alternate shot) Day 2: Four-ball (best ball) Will take place after the men’s event and before the women’s event.

Given men's football is the one event in all of the Olympics where the best athletes aren't allowed to compete... not sure how this move is "pure wokism". The women's tournament is essentially a mini world cup, the men's tournament is a side show we tolerate because it generates ticket sales.
 
Would be a different story, of course, if the men's event wasn't a U23 competition that isn't even within a FIFA window.

Fifa foreslår historisk kvinneløft i OL-fotballen – kan bli vedtatt onsdag
Det internasjonale fotballforbundet vil snu fordelingen og la 16 kvinne- og 12 herrelag spille fotball i OL.
Onsdag er det styremøte i Den internasjonale olympiske komité (IOC).
Det er de som må ta den endelige avgjørelsen etter at Fifa-president Gianni Infantino fortalte om forslaget på Uefa-kongressen i Beograd før helgen.
Infantino sier at Det internasjonale fotballforbundet ønsker å øke antallet kvinnelag for å styrke kvinnefotballbevegelsen.
Årsaken til at IOC angivelig ikke ønsker å øke det totale antallet lag til 32, er ifølge nyhetsbyrået AP at rundt 70 ekstra spillere pluss lagledere presser grensen for avtalte utøverkvoter i OL neste sommer-OL.
I de siste sommerlekene har fotballturneringene bestått av 12 kvinnelag og 16 U23-lag (med innslag av eldre spillere) for menn.
OL i 2028 arrangeres i Los Angeles i USA. Fifa-forslaget kan havne på IOCs bord allerede på onsdagens styremøte. (NTB)
