  1. And which one of them was build before Manchester? I suspect zero? You had zero velodromes before 1994 hence you had zero track cycling medals for 40+ years until late 90s. It's really that simple.
  2. Track cycling is heavily dependant on facilities. Manchester Velodrome opened in 1994 and GB has turned into a powerhouse since. Hell, even Poland has a velodrome build in 2008 and we've won several track cycling medals in the last decade. It's a low-hanging fruit very similar to luge. The countries that do well in luge are the ones that have build a luge track. Same applies to track cycling.
  3. I didn't write a single word about Poland because I knew Gwizdon is too slow on her skis to hold on for a medal. It's Pyeongchang deja vu all over again, leading after three legs and 7th at the finish. Kamila Zuk with a nice bounce back in shooting after terrible WCh so far. Hojnisz had one of her "good" days on skis too. Zbylut above expectations. But we just can't go around the 40 year old Gwizdon. Krystyna Guzik is 37 years old and basically inactive for two seasons. Joanna Jakiela missed 11 shots in the individual. Three 100% performances + Gwizdon ain't gonna win us a medal in the relay
  4. Germany would have easily won gold if Karolin Horchler wasn't so worthless on leg one...
  5. Puskarcikova is sloooowww... Could be 4th fourth place finish for Oeberg here...
  6. Norway gold, Germany silver and Pidrushna vs Puskarcikova for the bronze.
  7. Herrmann could well lose energy in chasing down Norway and Sweden. Seems like Oeberg vs Olsbu for the gold. Carrara on the penalty loop.
  8. Sanfilippo meltdown... so obvious...
  9. Aymonier on the penalty loop. Geez, how bad is the French women's shooting at these champs?
  10. That was record rapid fire even by Wierer's standards. Reality will kick in on the last two legs...
  11. Vittozzi hands over in the lead.
  12. EuroSport doesn't own any rights, they can only buy them. EBU still provides the TV signal in all European-based events. EuroSport only buys the sub-license from a third-party like InFront Media. This has changed from years gone by when ES was still owned by Canal +. Canal + belongs to EBU but Discovery doesn't. Actually this is why ES doesn't show figure skating from this season anymore. ISU struck a deal with CBS in 2019 and CBS, NBC & ABC are afiliated with EBU but Discovery isn't a part of any of these networks. I suppose EBU paid the Romanians more money than InFront Media for the broadcasting rights so they didn't care Rasnov won't be shown on ES
  13. Eurosport is owned by Discovery as you may know. I checked on some Polish forums and it turns out EBU (European Broadcasting Union) contacted the Romanian Federation on the behalf of TVP and bought exclusiv rights to show the Rasnov events on Polish TV. Therefore Discovery (ES) can't buy the sub-license from InFront Media because InFront doesn't have TV rights for Rasnov to begin with (EBU has them). So ARD and ORF will still show this since they are members of the EBU but EuroSport is obviously not. So yeah, it's actually TVP's fault you can't watch Rasnov on ES
  14. Who watches ski jumping in Holland anyway?
  15. 'Heavy Metal' is the Bible of adult anime VHS rules, baby!
  16. Nope. Kristoffersen lost 1,3 from the last split and down in 5th! Filip Zubcic wins! Odermatt who only lost 0,8 from the last split gets 2nd and Tommy Ford 3rd from 10th after the first run! alpine skiing is back? Zubcic was on the way up in the last few weeks!
  17. People losing time like crazy on the bottom. At this rate only Kristoffersen's 1,58 advantage can stop Zubcic from winning.
  18. Still nobody within a second of Zubcic. Pinturault 1,59 back and will lose pts to AA Kilde who is only 1,15 behind right now.
  19. Zubcic with another big run from 12th. I wonder if he ends up with a Top 5?
  20. 13 runners left in GS 2nd run and we have a brief wind delay in Naeba. But we're back underway!
  21. What's the incubation period of this virus anyway? It's easy for it to go undetected if the test is conducted too early?
  22. Nope. This is her first WC win as a married woman
  23. Well, it's an agricultural country ranked outside Top 140 in GDP per capita. Oligarchs have nothing to prey on there. Actually they import more goods from China than Russia.
  24. Obviously Russians go to Belarus and just about anyone from the former Soviet Union goes to Russia. It's an inter-USSR immigration market. Kazakhstan has access to oil from beneath the Caspian Sea so it's doing incredibly well economically for a Central Asia country. Uzbekistan is the biggest cotton exporter in the world right now. Sadly the Aral Sea has been drained and shrinked as a result since the cotton fields are taking water directly from it. It's a state policy and nobody cares about it. I suppose Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan provide some immigration to these countries. They are probably the two poorest ex-USSR republics right now.
  25. According to this: Russians, Belarussians, Kazakhs & Uzbeks https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Immigration_to_Ukraine The Ukrainian immigration to Poland has snowballed in the last decade. War in Donbas only poured fuel into the fire. Hell, even the left-wing pro-Labour 'The Guardian' has noticed this last year: https://www.theguardian.com/world/2019/apr/18/whole-generation-has-gone-ukrainian-seek-better-life-poland-elect-president
