  1. Doping violations in weightlifting? Geez, that's as old news as it gets
  2. Adam Malysz says he's been contacted by people from 'Project Harrachov' in attempt to save the hill complex from becoming a wildlife resort. They last hosted a World Cup event in 2014 and it's been in the doghouse ever since. Talk about going downhill in five years!
  3. Isn't like weed legal in Netherlands anyway? I mean you can buy this stuff in drugs stores or "coffee shops"?
  4. Gasly has been demoted to Toro Rosso and Albon is at Red Bull now Too much too soon IMO In 12 months time we'll be talking about who replaces Albon at Red Bull
  5. Team USA has 16 players who haven't signed themselved out of the World Cup yet: Harrison Barnes, Jaylen Brown, De’Aaron Fox, Joe Harris, Kyle Kuzma, Brook Lopez, Kyle Lowry, Khris Middleton, Donovan Mitchell, Mason Plumlee, Marcus Smart, Jayson Tatum, P.J. Tucker, Myles Turner, Kemba Walker and Derrick White
  6. Sweden should win men's discus but their relays will let them down.
  7. Wins for Kszczot & Ennaoui and Poland leads France by 28,5 pts with 13 events left.
  8. It has to be said the sprints 100/200m have been our weakest events for years - even on European level - but this decade it's reached the bottom (regardless of Swoboda who is better suited to 60m anyway). Men's 100/200 is uber trash in particular. Field events have been our strong suit for years instead (with the exception of long jump/triple jump). Bukowiecki has rocketed in the juniors and everyone thought he will be the heir to Majewski but Haratyk has passed him and is light years ahead now so he will be our top gold contender esp. if the Americans choke at the big events which was kinda frequent in the shot put for a while. I mean Cantwell was supposed to be the safest pick in London and Majewski still beat them which was a mild upset. Moreover Bukowiecki has a destructive personality, it's clear he hates losing to Haratyk is particular and implodes time and time again now. His biggest rival from the juniors Jacko Gill seems to have similar issues as his senior career didn't quite match the early hype IMO.
  9. I hear Carmelo Anthony wanted to play here but got rejected by Popovich?
  10. I'm gonna hold back on Stefanowicz being the "next Swoboda". Our 100m sprinting has gone backwards this decade in general and Swoboda would be a bigger threat at 60m anyway. It's no coincidence Stefanowicz blew the bend leg here as she still has very little experience.
  11. Anna Kielbasinska would have been an upgrade over any of the other three (esp. on the bend) but she's quit running 100m to focus on 400m these days.
  12. Besides Swoboda the rest of our girls are nobodies. Plus we had the worst exchange by a mile in that heat.
  13. Team Poland Karolina Naja, Anna Pulawska (K2 500, K4 500) Katarzyna Kolodziejczyk, Helena Wisniewska (K4 500) Justyna Iskrzycka (K1 500, K1 1000) Marta Walczykiewicz (K1 200) Tomasz Kaczor (C1 1000)
  14. https://www.iaaf.org/athletes/bosnia-herzegovina/sladana-jagodic-014780056 According to IAAF profile Jagodic's PB in high jump is 1,70m and that seems to be like her best event in heptathlon? 9,29m in shot put
  15. It would be the Olympics, that rules out "small stadiums" by default? Small would be U17 women's football tournament but not the Olympics.
  16. And herein lies the problem, I checked whether anyone other than Netherlands & Italy won the baseball EC. If you don't give a damn about this sport nobody in Europe ever will and it's a dead duck for the Olympic fanbase. I guess you can fill out the stands with school children, off-duty volunteers and members of the army to make it look like that someone has actually showed up! (I mean for Games outside of USA & Japan).
  17. None of the Central American countries will host the Olympics either. And those are poor countries in general, how many fans could afford the tickets & travel if the Olympics are held in Asia or Europe? I can almost predict baseball tickets would be one of the cheapest for the entire Olympics just to get some people to show up. If MLB stars played in the LA Olympics I guess that would be the most expensive tickets right up there with athletics & swimming. Athens & Beijing, well, maybe some Italians travelled to Greece and I'm sure plenty of Japanese travelled to Beijing as well
  18. It would only make sense to put MLB players if the Olympics are held in Japan or USA (bc I don't think Venezuela hosts it anytime soon). Otherwise it's a waste of time because nobody will come to watch these matches anyway.
  19. Is this guy like 82 years old? There's a bigger chance he suffers a heart attack than leads any power coup.
  20. Italy always had some of the most unstable governments I can remember If a PM lasted over two years in office he'd be a marathon runner. It wasn't all that crazy for the anti-immigrant die-hards to finally hear their named called in one of these elections.
  21. Color me surprised then Now we have to find some evidence why football is more popular than skiing in Norway Care to help?
