  1. Yeah, that match was something else
  2. Robert Lewandowski said he won't be available for NT selection as long as Michał Probierz remains the manager. Shit hit the fan over the weekend since Lewandowski deliberately skipped the call-ups for the Moldova friendly and the upcoming qualifier vs Finland and just few hours ago Probierz announced he stripped Lewandowski of the team captaincy
  3. Sikorski has charisma of a wooden spoon and just doesn't bring emotions whatsoever. He'd be an excellent figurehead in a communist regime though. Pomerania, Danzig and Lower Silesia. Yep, three of Civic Platform strongholds are the lands lost by Poland in medieval times to Germany. And you wonder why Tusk is accused of being a German puppet hehe. No chance. Even the former communists have distanced themselves from Russia these days let alone the right wingers like Law & Justice.
  4. I don't think so.
  5. Most voters polled are usually unwilling to admit they voted for Law & Justice candidates hehe. Moreover Trzaskowski was the "big city" candidate and the North-West part but got absolutely wrecked in the country side & the Eastern part of Poland. Map by municipality.
  6. Full results at 5:30 am CET. That is quick. Karol Nawrocki with 50.89% and Rafał Trzaskowski 49.11%. A spectacular failure for Donald Tusk & Civic Platform. Trzaskowski had five years to bounce back from 2020 defeat and he gets beat by a complete no-name who was thought of as sacrificial lamb when nominated.
  7. Late poll swing for Nawrocki
  8. Yeah, that was extremely one-sided final. Inter never showed up. What a waste after that SF thriller.
  9. Over here there was talk about Persepolis trying to sign him in the winter break but nothing happened. He's played in 31 of 32 league matches and scored 8 goals so far. He was mainly a sub at the start of the season but is a regular in the starting line-up since mid-October.
  10. Ali Gholizadeh scores the only goal in the Polish Ekstraklasa classic vs Legia Warsaw which means Lech Poznań returns to the top of the league with two matches remaining (after leaders Raków lost to outgoing champions Jagiellonia yesterday). @MHSN
  11. And I thought Zarco was never going to win a GP again after leaving Ducati
  12. Zhao Xintong wins the world title 18-12 over Mark Williams in the final. While only an amateur on paper he is the third qualifier after Terry Griffiths (1979) and Shaun Murphy (2005) who becomes world champion in the Crucible era. Also the first snooker world champion from Asia.
  13. Jochen Mass (motor racing) passed away at the age of 78 - only few days after the 50th anniversary of his only Formula 1 Grand Prix win.
  14. Better play from Williams in the second session but he trails 6-11 after day one.
  15. First session of the final is over and Zhao Xintong leads Mark Williams 7-1
  16. Aryna Sabalenka wins Madrid 1000 and further extends her lead at the top of the rankings. Coco Gauff would have moved into #2 if she won the final but the pressure is on Iga Świątek who still hasn't made a WTA final since last year's Roland Garros and will virtually drop to #4 before Rome where she defends the title.
  17. Yeah, I'm old enough to remember that too. Podhale was the best Polish team in the mid 90s alas they were even more dominant in the 70s (nine straight titles between 1971-79 ). They still have the most titles overall (19) alas their last one came in 2010 and they're a looong way off the pace these days.
  18. Polska Hokej Liga GKS Tychy - GKS Katowice 4-3 (Best of 7 series) Matches: 2:1, 5:1, 0:2, 3:1, 1:3 0:3, 4:2 This is GKS Tychy's 6th national title (2005, 2015, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2025). Final standings: 1. GKS Tychy 2. GKS Katowice 3. JKH GKS Jastrzębie 4. Unia Oświęcim 5. KH Energa Toruń 6. Comarch Cracovia 7. Zagłębie Sosnowiec 8. STS Sanok 9. Podhale Nowy Targ Top performers (Regular + Playoffs): Most Points: Rasmus Heljanko (GKS Tychy) 68 (29 G + 39 A) Most Goals: Teemu Pulkkinen (JKH GKS Jastrzębie) - 31 Most Assists: Joona Monto (GKS Tychy) - 45 Most PIM: Filip Wielkiewicz (Podhale Nowy Targ) - 116 update for @hckošice Most Points: Emil Bagin (JKH GKS Jastrzębie) 47 (17 G + 30 A), Roman Rac (JKH GKS Jastrzębie) 42 (15 G + 27 A) Most PIM: Samuel Petras (JKH GKS Jastrzębie) - 101 Emil Bagin was the top scoring defenseman in the league. Podhale Nowy Targ won a grand total of ONE match out of 40 in the regular season (also one loss in PSO) for a shattering ammount of 4 points. Reg season winners GKS Tychy had 95 points.
  19. Miami coming up. Fake marina has been joined by some artists' names (from the Brad Pitt movie) being shown in the garage instead of drivers' names. I have no effin' clue who Raye is but there ya go...
  20. Speaking of speedway, Tai Woffinden has a very bad crash in a pre-season friendly and will basically miss the full year and who knows if it affects his career as well.
  21. Zhao Xintong is only an amateur because of his ban which means he had no official ranking (it will change next week ). In fact he's well on his way to make the final after dominating the second SF session vs O'Sullivan.
  22. Lei Peifan beats Kyren Wilson 10-9 in the first round of the 2025 World Championships so the Crucible Curse strikes again. It was a crazy match, Lei lead 2-0 before Wilson won the next six frames in a row only for Lei to win the next seven in a row to lead 9-6. Wilson pulled back at 9-9 but went down in the decider. In qualifying Jackson Page became the first player to score two 147 maximum breaks in the same match.
  23. An overall failure for Poland who was supposed to run away with the promotion especially after Spain lost in the first game of the tournament
  24. Aryna Sabalenka wins the Miami 1000 over Jessica Pegula 7-5 6-2 in the final. This means she further extends her rankings lead and has eclipsed the 10,000 points mark. Now it's clay time, first up Charleston 500 (green) and the iconic minnow Bogota 250
  25. In the end Lanisek who jumped 13 meters shorter from a lower gate and better landing wins the last event of the season. Important feather on the cap for Planica who reclaims the longest jump record from Vikersund
