  1. The fact that he threw only 3 times over 70m tells you everything you need to know about Ramona. It's pure wind doping and you know it. It doesn't matter who competes there or not, the rules should be stricter when it comes to outside sources like the wind. If say 100m sprinters had such help they would run close to 9s. Those records wouldn't stand, but somehow they're still allowed in field events. If these records had any legitimacy the athletes would be throwing close to that mark regularly, yet they do not. That's my problem, I have no problems with athletes who go there to compete.
  2. Ramona records should not count. Field needs to include wind rules similar to track. I mean everyone is throwing over 70m so easily here but when they get to Europe we see throws around 70m. At the OG Stona was the only one who managed to threw over it (well right on the mark, not over it). It's a joke.
  3. A lot of his wins come from group 2 not working together and he just keep a steady pace.
  4. Something around 10k would be more than enough and it would look a lot more full.
  5. This could have been a rival to the diamond league if done right, but this isn't it. It's boring, too many breaks not enough action. It would have been much more interesting as a league, say you get top 32 athletes in every track discipline together. You have 3 rounds or 2 in longer disciplines. So QF, SF and Finals. Essentially how sprints work in cross country skiing. For the disciplines that need longer recovery limit the amount of participants. Maybe you switch it up for some races and you do 1v1 like the Warholm vs Duplantis thing. That would provide constant action without breaks. But the biggest issue for me is no field events. I hope Coe sees this failure and realises how important they are. I also hope he stops trying to reinvent them with new rules every year.
  6. Šutej and second places... If you're a betting man that's a sure bet.
  7. For men this is not that unusual. They produced some good results in the last few years. For women this is likely their once in a career result.
  8. Not yet but for Slovenia is more or less decided and has been decided since august. Janja Garnbret is winning the women sportsmen of the year Tadej Pogačar is winning the male sportsmen of the year and National Football Team is winning the team of the year.
  9. From the list I think it could be between Coe and Coventry. Coe will likely get all the western nations behind him. Coventry can bank on African support. Others imo will likely get minimal support. However since this is a secret ballot vote, don't count out the rich folks like Eliasch or prince Al Hussein.
  10. Maria Tviberg (alpine skiing) ends her career at the age of 30. https://www.instagram.com/p/C_0B-DXKr-v/?img_index=1
  11. It's been confirmed that Slovenia will send only their u19/23 cyclists. So no world tour cyclists at these Euros for us. As for women only Bujak will compete in the pro division.
  12. 10.37s is a really good time. That's almost faster than our best sprinter and he's only training for this discipline.
  13. I'm glad that Teršek won, but I hopped for a throw closer to 80m. Still first Slovenian gold medalist after Cankar 30 years ago. Javelin isn't easy and to be able to throw 80m at 17 shows he has promise to go a lot further. Fingers crossed he makes it. Also good result for Cyprus in men's hammer. Crazy good throw that one.
  14. Everyone as in staff and players.
  15. Based on what Gorazd said, he hasn't trained nearly as much in recent time as he did before. So he's a big ? for a medal. As for seated volleyball, everyone was saying that the women had a chance for a medal. Now the coach, after Valentina has been banned, is saying if we get anything it will be nothing short of a miracle.
  16. A bit of sad news for the Slovenian para volleyball team, which was already announced a few weeks ago but has now resurfaced as the Paralympics are beginning. Valentina Brik, who is Ukranian, but has switched her nationality to Slovenia since coming here a few years ago, has been denied entry to the games. This is a big loss to the whole team as according to the coach, our whole gameplay revolves around her. Without her he says our chances for anything are 90% smaller. Slovenia are the current european vice champions, mainly due to Brik. The reasoning why she's been denied is that the International Paravolley Federation wants to review her injury status again. And she can't compete until that examination is complete. When is that examination? Well in January 2025 :). This begs the question why did they allow her to participate in both the Euros and the olympic qualifiers. And why impose this examination right now and wait so long until they do it? Just a big shame as our volleyball team was likely the only medal hope for us.
  17. I'm really curious what Stona will do in discus. I still think his throw in the OG was a fluke. A fluke that got him the gold.
  18. In my case adblock messes things up. If I have it switched on it just refuses to play the video. If I turn it off it works fine for about a minute but if you scroll back a few seconds the whole thing breaks. Strangely enough it works fine on Edge browser, but not on Chrome/Brave. That being said that's the only reason why I still have Edge on my laptop.
  19. Holloway doesn't lose a lot of races. And the first one after becoming the Olympic champion. This one must sting a little bit.
  20. I finally had the time to watch stages 14&15. Man how these guys can ride over 20km/h on 10%+ I'll never know. And for over 40 minutes! I did enjoy Pogi winning and he looked so fresh when he finished. I would probably need someone to carry me off
  21. Looking forward, Netflix already has a few plots ready for the 3rd season of Unchained. Hopefully we get more than 8 episodes this time.
  22. I read somewhere that we (Slovenia) hold the record for most matches played at the Euros without winning. Yesterday was our 6th match. We have 5 draws and 1 defeat. And yet we still somehow managed to qualify to the 2nd round. After the 2010 slap where we lost the chance of qualifying in the last seconds because USA scored, we feared it was going to be the same. Losing points against Serbs with that lucky goal hurt a lot. But finally some luck came our way. Let's see what we can do now. If Croatia has shown us anything is that you can just park the bus and play for penalties to progress. Also grande Kek! best coach on the planet.
  23. A lot of sprinters run on confidence. Might be his way of "staying in the zone". Or he just wants to be the next face of athletics. Who knows.
  24. British guy just blocked both the Italian and the Dutch
  25. Nice to see Mayer back. Here's hoping he finishes all 10 disciplines.
