  1. Kristjan Čeh threw 71,86 m in discus today in Estonia (Heino Lipp Memorial), which is the furthest anyone has thrown in the last 15 years! It's apparently the 4th longest throw ever made!
  2. Sad news for us. RTV prefers showing us commercials rather than live content. And when they will show us something, they will pick and chose those few sports that get them ratings, while not even bothering to mention the others. As of this moment they don't even have a single live showing scheduled, while their tv calendar is full until 23rd of June.
  3. From the results, this was one of the best diamond league meetings in recent memory. Of course I couldn't watch it as it was on a channel (Sportklub) almost nobody has in this country. But I did enjoy it through the live results!
  4. Sources say there were more than 10000 Slovenes on the road today.
  5. HI, just wanted to ask, does this forum have an option to switch to a darker theme? If so how?
  6. Same here. The only difference is that It's on a channel only 15 % have.
  7. Some really good results today. It's a shame they had some technical difficulties during broadcasting. Our guys just decided to end the whole broadcast all together after the mens 800m final.
  8. I just watched the replay of men's 109kg + category and was so confused when the commentators spoke how good these championships was, apart form the opening. And they didn't explain more on the subject. That being said Lasha reigns supreme for the 7th time in a row! Very good from the spectators too who cheered him on despite his main rival being Armenian.
  9. Even so, from what little live footage that I saw, the commentators talked about her not eating or drinking as it's Ramadan. All this makes it much more impressive for me.
  10. At the end of the day Johnson isn't entirely wrong. Track events belong together as do field events. I think athletics should look towards the winter sports for inspiration, where you have say alpine skiing but you don't necessarily have all the events at one place. Like you have Schladming just for slalom, Kitz just for speed disciplines and so on. This way you could have a long jump competition with more than just 8 athletes take place in say Greece, while the next day you would have a track event (with all track disciplines) in Great Britain, the next day a hammer throw in Poland... Athletics and the diamond league could create a similar cup where athletes score points for a overall globe title. Have 10 different meets in the season each worth 100 points for the winner and a point for last placed. Events like 100m and so on would have qualifiers, semis and finals on the same day. Thus preventing athlets from competing in multiple events. I dunno, it's an idea.
  11. Sundling should go all out next season for the overall victory in the standings.
  12. Next season is going to be interesting. I wonder how Tandervold will handle being the leader of the Norwegian team. Who will lead Germany in the standings. Will Oebergs finally win the overall globe. Will Soukalova return (there were hints that she might, Czechs are hosting the world championship after all). Will Anamarija Lampič get better at shooting? And there's loads more questions. Exciting season ahead for sure.
  13. I think it's worth mentioning that Ema Klinec jumped one meter less with 5 gates lower starting ramp than Loutitt.
  14. And then you have Bjorndalen and Gwizdon who continued well into their 40s.
  15. I doubt Fak will retire as long as he our number 1. He's also the most marketable biathlete here, which makes it financially beneficial for him to continue on.
  16. Lampič can become good for sure, but I'm not expecting much. We don't really have a good track record when it comes to cross country > biathlon switch. We had a lot of them over the years and nobody really became a contender. They were lucky if they scored points. I'm sure Anamarija will improve her standing shooting, but by how much? And how will this affect her skiing time. I mean since December she hasn't been at her best in that area. The good thing is that at least we have Polona Klemenčič who seems to have had a massive improvement this season and can already fight for the top 10.
  17. With Tiril and Marte done, Norway loses are big. But somehow I still think other nations are too far back to mount a serious challenge their top 5 spot. Next year should still be the usual Sweden, France, Italy, Germany, Norway fight for the top spots.
  18. Tina Šutej is destined to always finish either second or third. This was such a big chance wasted. Still it's a medal.
  19. I hope this gold sparks the rest of the team for tomorrow. Maybe we can get another medal.
  20. Some good results today. Highlight definitely "two" world record(s) in heptathlon. Thiam was marking Sulek throughout the whole five disciplines. Every time Sulek broke away with a good jump or throw there was Thiam with an equal or better attempt. Shot put was good too. I thought Italy would suffer without the man the myth the legend Ponzio, but Weir came out swinging with a new NR. Other final result were more or less as expected. In 60m all three medallists were by far better than the rest. Nice try from Rosius who got a PB twice if I'm not mistaken, once in semis and then in the final. Jakob controlled the race in 1500m, and Koko and Klein in 3000m for ladies. Tomorrow is D-day for us. Šutej is arguably the nr. 1 favorite in pole vault. I hope she finally gets her gold.
  21. Absolutely terrible conditions for racing in Aspen. Kilde, Odermatt and others didn't have any chance of getting close to those that started before the interruption.
  22. We are allowed to celebrate this gold as ours, considering that Canadians have their home base in Slovenia, they live in Slovenia, they jump on Slatnar skis and their coach is Slovenian.
  23. I feel bad for Ginnis, but at the same time happy for Popov. I like it when guys from non traditional nations get on podiums. That's why slalom is the most exciting discipline in alpine at the moment for me. That and the fact that you have around 30 guys who can easily get to the podium. Yesterday as you can see from the picture above you had guys with numbers outside of the elite 7 there. Remove Noel and you get guys who aren't even in the top 15. It's crazy how tight everything is in slalom these days. One mistake and you're out (as long as the slope is good enough for everybody).
