I think that the fourth heat is not included in this ranking

Yeah, my bad, I forgot that.... the heat 4 was delayed because of the rain....

But, anyway, the girl from South Africa will finish the competition in a better position and qualify

Can you explain the modus of this tournament? I only see 4 heats in park yet. Who will qualify for the next round?

The top 20 among those 4 heats will qualify to the semifinal, and compete again against the top 12 of the ranking, who were pre-seeded.

So 32 on semifinal, and then top 8 to the final.

Thanks, I couldn't find any info about the semis qalification cut. So it seems like Brodka will be on the edge here, gotta be a nervous last heat that.

I am unashamed, at getting nothing done.

@Benolympique your athlete has for sure olympics spot. Quota for 3xJPN, BRA, USA, GBR, FRA, FIN, GER, ESP sure.    15 place China Xin (semfinal here, I think she is sure also), next Poland, Chile (semfinal), AUS, ITA x2, RUS, must wait for results of Trew (Australia), Martin from UK,  Ebert from Canada, from ranking 19 places and one place for Africa.  Top 8 gives them many points.  For 1st place - 40000 2nd - 2400, 3- 21600, 4- 17280, 5- 9200, 6-7300, 7-5900, 8-4700,9-1620, 10-1450, 11 - 1340, 12-1200, 13-1080,14-980, 15-880, 16-790

    • Let's not act as if these things never happen before. Serbia's cross-country skiing drama a week before the Olympic qualifying for Beijing ended: FIS | Cross-Country Results - Zlatibor (SRB) 2021/2022   Drndic with a DNF, despite being - on paper at least - the best athlete. She didn't just 'not finish', she stepped out barely 50 meters before the finish, because if finishing, the points for her competitor would have been better due to the way points are calculated. Ended up with lots and lots of yelling and screaming and fighting and cursing, DNS the next day and in the end Serbia sent none of them.   This is not a shit move by Canada, this is a fault of the system at most.
    • Yes agreed, resetting it would help make it more dramatic as no one would be running away with it. We could also set it that there is a small reward for ranking higher after each round… maybe they start the next round with a “head start” so they bring a few points into the next round? But starting from scratch each round might be cleaner
    • I like the concept a lot. My only worry would be that the nations doing the best individually would also end up at the top here as teams are only made up of pairs. Whereas in a bigger team it gives the nations not doing so well individually to have another chance if they are lucky enough to be placed in a good team. Any way we can balance it?

    • Nice for them, but also kind of too bad they pick the exact same two as last time. Would have been nice to see Regina Martinez for example (although I'm not sure that would have been logistically possible, depending on how they're going to do the flag bearer thing in the first place).
