Yeah if you're expecting Prevc to repeat this season, you're probably gonna end up disappointed :d

This was just stunning

After what feels like a gazillion years, Miran Tepes will quit his job "at the traffic lights" in men's competitions :(

He will go to the women, and be replaced by Czech ex-jumper Borek Sedlak.

Too bad he can't take the other criminal Hoffer with him. At least we can hope for a somewhat fair competition.

Yup, the shananigans those 2 have done with gates, winds, suits over the years that i have watched this sport are countless. After boxing and gymnastics, ski-jumping is for me the next sport in line with biased officials.

I have watched almost every competition in the last 2-3 years and the only problems I saw were those that would not have been solved with literally anyone else there. Yeah, that happens when there is wind.

There is only one thing that would change anything about that: never have ski jumping competitions outdoor anymore. I'm quite confident that someone else than Hofer/Tepes being in charge would not have made it a damn bit better :)

But of course I understand people blame them when the wind causes unfair conditions, it's easier than actually blaming the natural circumstances, so it's understandable indeed.

Funny how those circumstances are never against the austrians and germans. And the few times they are we will just cancel the whole round *cough* Schlirenzauer *cough* 4-hills. I'll try and keep count for next season, but i hope with Sedlak things will be more fairer to the smaller teams.

I'll do my best to help out with that, because numbers say more than feelings :p

And don't get me wrong, I'm definitely a fan of the smaller teams usually.

Now that I'm talking to you about smaller teams anyway: how's Zografski doing? He used to be someone who might have a good break through in the World Cup, but he's nearly invisible lately..

Yeah, i'm afraid Vladi Zografski is going to be just a flash. His smaller body just prevents him from having a fast runaway and then the winds just bounce him around. Plus his morale has been bellow minimum after the failed couple of seasons. Even having Pointner around for some coaching tips didn't improve much of his technique. I hope to see him rejuvinated for next season and at least get some points here and there. That should be the max that is expected from him.

    • Does the CAS have the authority to address from someone who believes the judges made a mistake in a given discipline? Pizzolato's last attempt at Paris 2024, which earned him the bronze medal, was controversial, but what does the CAS have to do with it? Even if the judges made a mistake then, the result won't change and this isn't the only case where someone feels wronged with this in world of sports. Unless, of course, they have some evidence of corruption or something like that
    • If Pizzolato will to return, would it be to the 86 kg category, or the 94 kg category, like Nasar? In 2024, they were both in the 89 kg category, which will no longer be at the Olympics, but in 2021 in Tokyo, Pizzolato won a medal in the 81 kg category.   Of course, it's unclear what's going on with the rape accusations- personally, unfortunately, I don't think he was ever a sweet angel- he was accused of other immoral things also 10 years ago, but gang rape? I find that hard to believe... Besides, Moldova has appealed about his bronze medal from Paris 2024 to the CAS- the verdict was supposed to be in February. Do you know anything about this? Did they have any grounds for this lawsuit at all?
    • Ukraine won 6 gold medals out of 10 in the women's competotion  + 1 silver and 1 bronze. Where do they get these girls from? It's always been a strong country, but they have never dominated like this. I wonder if their training methods would work in another country and if their coaches have any offerts to job from other countries? However, there is a significant decline in women's judo in Ukraine, so maybe they have directed all their resources and money towards wrestling?
    • Sablikova started on the road cycling and just almost qualified for Rio 2016. Maybe Lollobrigida would like to join the Italian track team? She has the good character and 2 medals at the Olympics, one in winter and one in summer, would be a legendary achievement, not only in Italy.   https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Martina_Sáblíková
    • One Wiebes is worth more than the all Italian team with Balsamo/Fidanza, etc., that much clear. Even if the Netherlands loses its dominance in the men's sprint, Wiebes will win 2-3 gold medals in other events. Just relax, man.
    • I'm most worried about our women's team in the pursuit – we have a reserve squad, but not advancing to the top 8 is a shame. We recently competed with out 1 team and had not good in 1 round. It doesn't look good. And the Netherlands are already taking Wiebes to the track team and will soon dominate the Madison/Omnium as well. Balsamo and Paternoster haven't made any progress for years and the our women's team at the Olympics has little chance to win a medal. Italy might even win World Championship/European Championship gold in the years after the Olympics, etc., but when the real fight comes, the UK or the USA will always beat us
    • Track cycling is one of the few sports where there is no host nation quota, so  will need to work hard to achieve our quotas.  It's not our best sport, but was happy to see Top 10 results in the Elimination Race for Grant Koontz and Emma Jimenez Palos (who is just 18!).
    • Yes, I saw the same thing you did @clemsonbeav (on both accounts) but I agree it looks pretty stock.
    • Also, I just logged back into my account, where it sent me to update my profile, and when I saved that, I got a screen that included a check mark next to 'Registered for the Draw'.  Not sure I totally trust it, but it does at least say so.  (There's nothing specifically referencing Drop 2 or anything...might just be a stock screen.). I'm curious what it would look like if you looked at it @esube.  https://tickets.la28.org/
