Maybe he will start in Poznan, Sopot, Hungary, Russia

Poland wishes. :d I can't see him obtaining MERs at such high level competitions.

Sky is the limit :D Everything is possible ;) Poland is near, maybe riders from Ukraine will participate.  MERs are not so high. And many events still will be held in Europe.

Dutch "short-list" for dressage...

Minderhoud is listed with Zonik even though he never competed internationally with him and obviously has no MER? Maybe he plans to campaign the horse on back-to-back weekends just before the deadline.

My prediction is Edward Gal, HP Minderhoud and Dinja van Liere, with Emmelie Scholtens being the reserve and really the main victim of the postponement...

Marlies van Baalen, 40, and Ben Johnson, 15-year-old KWPN gelding, and
Go Legend, 10-year-old KWPN gelding

Adelinde Cornelissen, 41, and Aqiedo, 16-year-old KWPN stallion,
Zephyr, 17-year-old KWPN gelding,
Fleau de Baian, 11-year-old KWPN stallion, and
Governor-STR, 10-year-old KWPN stallion

Edward Gal, 51, and Glock’s Toto JR., 10-year-old Hanoverian stallion, and
Glock’s Total US, nine-year-old Hanoverian stallion

Dinja van Liere, 30, and Hermes, nine-year-old KWPN stallion, and
Haute Couture, nine-year-old KWPN mare

Patrick van der Meer, 50, and Chinook, 14-year-old KWPN stallion

Anne Meulendijks, 27, and MDH Avanti, 16-year-old KWPN gelding

Hans Peter Minderhoud, 47, and Glock’s Dream Boy, 13-year-old KWPN stallion, and
Glock’s Zonik, 13-year-old Danish Warmblood stallion

Denise Nekeman, 27, and Boston STH, 15-year-old KWPN stallion

Emmelie Scholtens, 35, and Desperado, 13-year-old KWPN stallion

Madeleine Witte-Vrees, 49 , and Cennin,14-year-old KWPN stallion

Thamar Zweistra, 38, and Hexagon’s Double Dutch, 13-year-old KWPN stallion

A week ago the following Danes were mentioned as qualified in dressage:

Andreas Helgstrand / Fiontini

Carina Cassøe Krüth / Heiline’s Danciera

Cathrine Dufour / Bohemian

Cathrine Dufour / Vamos Amigos

Charlotte Heering / Bufranco

Daniel Bachmann Andersen / Carso’ni

Lone Bang Larsen / Bakkely’s Onandt

Nanna Skodborg Merrald / Atterupgaards Othilia

Nanna Skodborg Merrald / Blue Hors Zack

Isn't Dufour qualified with Cassidy as well, @dcro?

She is, but presumably she chose to withdraw Cassidy due to his age.

Bohemian is her main star right now, but still, Cassidy would have been a better substitute than Vamos Amigos.

And proven correct on the same day. :yikes:

Scholtens withdrew today from the selection trials, and therefore, the Olympics. Last year she had two horses ready. Big victim of the postponement.

I guess Marlies van Baalen and Adelinde Cornelissen will fight it out for the travelling reserve spot then...

As expected, :THA Arinadtha Chavatanont & Boleybawn Prince delivered in the dressage today. They are a really solid combination, so normally they should be able to obtain MER quite easily come Sunday, but this is sport and anything can happen in one competition.

To qualify for Tokyo, he needs to obtain the MER on either Seigneur Medicott or Dajara, but of course qualifying them both and having options would be ideal.

Live stream should be available here (only live and window-sized content available for non-subscribers, but more than enough to follow).

    • I used public transit the entire time I was in Milan.   My first day was a doozy, because I had to two flights to reach Malpensa, and then the train into town was delayed, and then I got confused a station and boarded a tram instead of the metro, proceeded to travel in the wrong direction, got off, walked back to the station, found the metro, got off a station early, walked around a kilometer to my hotel, and checked in.   My colleagues mostly took cabs upon arrival, but I deduced to take the frugal approach. That said, I was a true public transit professional by the time I left Milan.   I actually enjoyed my rides to and from venues, because I'd just chat up fans and volunteers from different countries. It helped me learn more about the city too.
    • It's the olympics, sleep is for the weak!    The first day i got there i was on a 12 hour flight from l.a to rome (flight that left mid day), lay over, another flight to milan, uber to hotel, then right away to speed skating (1500m men), then after uber to hockey venue for women's gold final, then after the celebrations uber to the hotel, i ended up being awake about 36 hours that day, the next morning i thought to go sightseeing in the center of milan, but ended up sleeping until like 2pm..... and had speed skating/short track that night
    • I tried to get onto the metro multiple times and gave up    I had just arrived the day of from Bangkok (12 hr flight) and was just exhausted and wanted to sleep
    • Plus, you missed out on a potential metro ride with me, which is quite priceless in my opinion
    • My hotel was very close to Rho so was easy to get there, but it was so far from the hockey venue that after the women's gold medal match it was so expensive to get back, and also the next day after the usa slovakia semis it took forever, the asshole driver took the city and not the freeway
    • Uber cost me $224 CAD to get back to the hotel from the OC. It basically prevented me from buying tickets to a speed skating session
    • Romania's national team coach, Mircea Lucescu, has died half an hour ago He was in hospital since March 30th, just before the friendly match against Slovakia. Unbelievable how the life can have such turns...in March 26th he was in Istanbul playing the WC qualifying play-off vs Turkiye and now he died.    Thank you very much for every moments you bring us in your huge career (he's on 3rd place in a most trophies won in career, after Ferguson and Guardiola) and may your soul rest in peace, Mr. Lucescu.
