I just realized that the first fence, which O'Shea took down, is a triple bar!! OMG, nobody ever makes mistakes on triple bars.

Horvath had such an awful approach to the first fence, he basically jumped it from a stand-still. And guess what? It didn't fall, because triple bar. Irish bad luck in show jumping is a true Oscar-worthy material.

It's one for the horror category . And it always culminates in the most cruel fashion too where we almost make it, but miss out by 0.01 or something. Even Cian O'Connor's surprise bronze at London 2012 came with 2 cruel twists.... 0.02 over the time for a time penalty (thus denying him the chance of gold) and then the last fence down in the jump-off for the silver

That was absolutely sick and a disgrace really. He had the next fence down and that cost them qualification.... and that fence hadn't fallen all day so it was very unfair. And remember, they just missed out to Sweden at the WEG in 2014 for the last qualification spot by a tiny margin, so yeah... I'm pretty numb to showjumping disasters at this stage, it just comes with the territory of being an Irish fan.
