24th July is D-Day. Make or Break for the nation!!

yeah...1st sporting day  is very crucial and as was the case in rio....

it will set the tone with 4 medal chances in weightlifting, shooting (men and women) and mixed archery

But one good thing with this Olympics is we have medal chances on other days also with most crucial day on 27th when both air rifle and air pistol mixed team events are scheduled !!!

In men's doubles tennis, there are 31 entries in the list. Ideally there should be one more. Let's hope it is Nagal/Bopanna

Yup 31 entries so far in Men's Doubles

Yes, I am counting the updated list. That list is public since yesterday and that was linked here as well, so no point in counting any old lists.

Tennis update:

Entries are now closed in terms of new replacements. Any replacements would have to be from athletes already on-site, according to ITF.

So it means, India will not be able field a men's doubles team.

It also means that Sania and Sumit may not enter Mixed Doubles with CR of 153.

    • For me they gave Canada the gold in the relay in exchange for a 1000-meter dsq gold for Dandjinou, that's how I see it. It was a battle between Kor and Can on 2 of this case. It's hard to say why that last dsq for Kor was in relay? Of course, Italy win bronze thanks for that, but that's not really important. It would have been better if the referees had just stayed out of the results and left it as it was decided for fight on the ice.

    • the quata for europe or australia is from the primer 12, where the top 20 teams will participate, sadly  is the 21th team so the only slight chance for us in my opinion is if: we get top 2 at the european championship (not including  hopefully if they get the quata), then somehow win the final qualification tournament against i assume  and one of    the chances for us are slim, i think about 4 other team sports  have a better chance in in my opinion(and the most team sports we ever had was one, and it was the last two time after a long time )

    • well, Cuba and Venezuela for sure...   Iran is a different question, but I hope in 2 years all this war shit is done and dusted and at least in the sports world everything is gonna be OK
    • In my opinion the Italian team has been playing above expectations since last year after several years of decline. Last year, we advanced to the first division at the European Championships and now they're playing very close matches against the strong India and Scotland. We a little miss a potential to do more – we are only 18th in the world rankings. Our men's team's performance in this sport is much weaker.
    • I wonder if all Cuba, Iran and Venezuela will be able to travel and compete in LA at all... Hopefully that yes.
    • There was some initial disappointment at first, but got over it quite quickly.    Happy for  and I hope they can win a medal in LA with their MLB players there!
