I bit surprise on  our performance in badminton as we are heading towards Rio..

 

Now Srikanth lost to 103rd ranked player in China Masters..that too with the scoreline 12-21, 17-21

Canoe Slalom

 

Ace paddler, Bilquis Mir has been nominated national coach to represent India in 9th Asian canoe slalom Championship and Canoe Slalom Asian Continental Qualifier for Rio Olympics 2016, to be held at Toyama in Japan from April 17 to April 24, 2016 as coach.
She has the reputation of being the most competent national coach in women Kayaking and Canoeing internationally.
It is pertinent to mention here that earlier in 3rd National Canoe Slalom and Canoe Polo Championship, J&K team coached by Bilquis won one gold three silver and 2 bronze medals.
Bilquis said that she is hopeful of good show of Indian team at the National scene, adding that she also believes that JK paddlers will represent India in the forthcoming Asian Championship.

Commonwealth Games champions Sathish Kumar Sivalingam and K Sanjita Chanu will spearhead the challenge of a 16-member Indian team at the Senior Asian Weightlifting Championship, which will serve as the qualification event for the Olympics, at Tashkent, Uzbekistan from April 21 to 30.
 

The Team for the event is as follows:-


Men: Dipak Ramesh Mahajan (56kg), Gopal Anbarasu (62kg), Sambo Lapung (69kg), Sathish Kumar Sivalingam (77kg), Vikas Thakur (85kg), Ragala Venkat Rahul (94kg), Pardeep Singh (105kg), Gurdeep Singh (+105kg), Jaspreet Singh (+105kg).
Women: K Sanjita Chanu (48kg), Saikhom Mirabai Chanu (48kg), Sagolsem Thasana Chanu (58kg), Punam Yadav (63kg), Rakhi Halder (69kg), Kavita Devi (75kg), Sushila Panwar (+75kg).

    • Yes, but Geiger and Wellinger have both achieved some success in major events, while Paschke hasn't. Geiger certainly has a better chance in Cortina than Paschke at now, but it has to be the his decision to withdraw and give a chance to his team- mate. Otherwise, it wouldn't be fair to him. I don't think Horngacher will force him to withdraw.

    • Promoting bad swimmers AND better shooters over better runners (overall less favorable for endurance value) which I think is supposed to help attract new athletes - endurance is usually the biggest turn-off.
