Shooting Team for Rio announced.. As expected, NRAI decided to exchange Sanjeev Rajput's quota in Men's 50m Rifle 3 position for Manavjit Singh Sandhu in Men's Trap. I am slightly surprised. The inconsistence of Mohd Asab in Double Trap, especially in the ongoing Shotgun WC where he finished 26th, and the experience of Manavjit might have been the reason.

  • Abhinav Bindra (M) – 10 m air rifle
  • Gagan Narang (M) – 10 m air rifle, 50 m rifle prone, 50 m rifle 3 positions
  • Chain Singh (M) – 50 m rifle prone, 50 m rifle 3 positions
  • Jitu Rai (M) – 10 m air pistol, 50 m pistol
  • Gurpreet Singh (M) – 10 m air pistol, 25 m rapid fire pistol
  • Prakash Nanjappa (M) – 50 m pistol
  • Kynan Chenai (M) – Trap
  • Manavjit Singh Sandhu* (M) – Trap
  • Mairaj Ahmad Khan (M) – Skeet
  • Apurvi Chandela (W) – 10 m air rifle
  • Ayonika Paul (W) – 10 m air rifle
  • Heena Sidhu (W) – 10 m air pistol, 25 m pistol

    • Yes, but Geiger and Wellinger have both achieved some success in major events, while Paschke hasn't. Geiger certainly has a better chance in Cortina than Paschke at now, but it has to be the his decision to withdraw and give a chance to his team- mate. Otherwise, it wouldn't be fair to him. I don't think Horngacher will force him to withdraw.

    • Promoting bad swimmers AND better shooters over better runners (overall less favorable for endurance value) which I think is supposed to help attract new athletes - endurance is usually the biggest turn-off.
