Watching yesterday's Democratic presidential debate and dear lord, can't they give them microphones that simply turn off when the time is up? Every single one of them just keeps dragging on about their totally off-topic bullcrap even when time is over.

So far Buttigieg is the only one who seems normal, especially walking skeletons Sanders and Warren literally do nothing but look angry and yell louder to make it seem like their point is better.

I was all for Buttigieg originally, but he’s kinda fallen out of favor with me and with many democrats. It all stems from how he’s handled his race issues in his city. He is definitely the best moderate candidate in my opinion, but I don’t think the party will be electing a moderate. Officially, my parties candidates are Warren and Sanders, but I would only support Warren in the primary. I’ll most likely vote for Harris. She’s progressive, but not so progressive she’ll scare more conservative voters and moderates away. Plus, it’d be pretty to have a black woman president.

His 5% percent support comes for the white college educated democratic voters. It’s not shocking because that is the most logical choice for that group of people.

And Williamson is literally saying nothing that makes sense. Ugh. Go Buttigieg.

Sanders, as always, coming across as your 95-year old grandpa who sadly has lost his mind. oldmanyellsatcloud.jpg

Williamson actually makes good points about key issues. She just never talks about any policy (save her reparations talk from last night).

Voting for someone (partially) because of their skin colour and gender...meh. Imagine the criticism one gets when saying "I'll vote for X because at least he's a white male" :p

None of them actually talk about (realistic) policy. It's all just a bunch of "we're gonna throw XX trillion at this, and XX trillion at that! Everything is solved then!". No, it won't work like that and every single candidate is entirely delusional if they think they can actually solve a big problem on their own.

Yeah white male is a bad formula in the party right now. Though Biden is leading, but he uses his friendship with Obama as his black card.

Which is a problem. There shouldn't be any 'good' or 'bad' formula in terms of someone's skin colour or gender and that goes both ways.

Well this election will feature race no matter what. The US will always have race issues until people like Trump seize to exist or reparations are given.

    • Aaaand the aforementioned  Gaia Brunello has put down a 36th place in Arber today, 2:35 minutes behind the winner, resulting in 116 IBU points. For World Cup qualification one needs an average of under 150 at the end of a trimester...or one result of under 125 in the current or previous trimester, so if I'm not mistaken, she has immediately qualified for next week's World Cup!   Great start. We are definitely hoping she stays in biathlon only and this start helps
    • This is the most incompatible with my sleeping schedule tennis event ever but I will still watch it.  I've seen a few qualifying games but time to step up my tennis watching with the main draw.

    • Draws are now out: https://ausopen.com/draws   As usual, some intriguing first round matchups.   ‪Osaka/Garcia and Gauff/Kenin are the main ones that stand out on the women’s side, while for the men it’s Hurkacz/Griekspoor, Dimitrov/Fognini and Monfils/Mpetshi Perricard, but there’s so many quality matchups that it’s tough to only pick a couple. I’m interested to see who Fonseca draws as a Q, that’ll be a matchup players want to avoid.
