But he was holding a gun like one second before that? What is a 13 year old doing with a real hand gun to begin with? USA is a brain dead country. 13 year olds running around with real guns, no wonder policemen are trigger-happy and have a short fuse.

The proliferation of guns should absolutely be a huge part of the coverage of this case.

I don’t post about it, but little kids (5-12) die quite frequently from getting access to their parents guns and shooting themselves or friends.

America is like the middle east when it comes to violence. Only difference is that it's the american military killing the civilians in middle east by bombs and drones while the american police kills civilians in their own country.

At home, yes. But this was outside and the kid was hanging out with some 21yo who also had a gun. What gives? Kid was inspired by thug life or whatever street gang? I tell you, I'm not shocked police is so trigger-happy if some kid from 6th grade can pull a gun on you and flat out shoot you dead. Hence there will be no lessons learned from George Floyd and others. The juice is not worth the squeeze. USA is a gun violence country with both Republicans and Democrats happy to uphold the Second Amendment from 18th century. 230 years and you keep feeding this sacred cow. For what? I understand Republicans are scared to lose the conservative votes but what is holding the Democrats back? Either they're bunch of hypocrites or they're scared of NRA as well. Either way, nothing changes. Rinse and repeat.

Again, it’s not that hard to get a gun. If someone 18+ wants a gun, they can generally get one rather easily in most states.

It’s also worth pointing out that in many cases it takes more training to become a plumber or beauty technician than to become a police officer, and there is something inherently wrong with that. If someone has to put in more training to hold a pair of scissors to my hair over holding a gun to my head, then that’s a serious problem. We have insufficient healthcare, education, family support, mental health systems (among many, many other issues). My guess is that every American user on this forum knows someone who’s died because of a lack of healthcare, addiction to drugs, or who was a victim of gun violence (again, among other preventable causes). It’s a sobering and sad truth for most Americans.

If gun access to citizens is so easy as you say, it's obvious why it's so easy to become a policeman :dunno:  Gun violence and police capacity are not unrelated things. Long live the Second Amendment :old:

That’s absolutely right. It’s not just policing and gun proliferation either, it’s the lack of mental health services, the lack of healthcare, the lack of drug and alcohol addiction services, the lack of education opportunities, etc.

Because Russia already sealed off Kerch Straight while Ukrainian warship blocked as hostage in Sea of Azov. I gotta say Russia is still doing better than China in terms of threatening US back.

We are setting an example for our entire country, especially for the younger generation. They see that a difficult path is not a reason to give up. It teaches perseverance. In this perseverance lies our shared strength, our mission to millions of young people for whom sports are a guiding point and a shining star. I believe in our country, in our strong-spirited guys. I sincerely love and respect our president, Vladimir Putin. He is the best president in the world. May God grant him strength and good health."   Do they deserve neutral status?
    • I did not think it would happen again but... I created similar post for Paris - 2024 https://totallympics.com/forums/topic/27489-ain-athletes-qualification-for-paris-2024-olympic-games-and-reallocation-of-quotas-post1-updated-1507/#comments  I was not sure if that reallocations would really happen but the reality was even more serious than the expectations. According to this research 43% of the neutral statuses issued by the IFs were fake AIN  - https://razom22.com/neutrality-research/  And the figures are based on the IOC decisions - not on the evaluations by Ukrainian NOC or sport ministry. Right now the situation is absolutely unclear. As usually )) Some notes: 1. Russians will not reject quotas for 2026 as they did for 2024 in judo and wrestling. 2. AINERP may be more loyal to russians due to the new member - Watanabe. His federation issued AIN status to Melnikova who took part in the primaries of the russian ruling party, had phots with Z and e .t.c. 3. I do not expect a lot of reallocations becaues of the total small number of the rus/blr athletes in qualification events right now. 4. BUT, even with these small numbers we see that FIS allowed to compete several incompliant persons.        Short notes from the IOC statement before Paris - 2024:   1. IOC`s decisions to reject quotas are final. 2. IOC`s decisions to approve quotas are not final - new facts may lead to the rejection of invitation. 3. IOC`s decisions cannot be appealed - NOCs were not invited to the Games, so it is a good will to invite individual athletes... or not   russians Sports Athlete(s) Discipline Possible Reallocation NOC IOC Decision + IF reallocation if happened Figure skating Adeliia PETROSIAN Women's singles Stefania Yakovleva Confirmed by IOC Figure skating Petr GUMENNIK Men's singles Davide Lewton Brain Confirmed by IOC belorussians     Sports Athlete(s) Discipline Possible Reallocation NOC IOC Decision + IF reallocation if happened Figure skating Viktoriya SAFONOVA Women's singles Stefania Yakovleva Confirmed by IOC
    • I would say they will not be eligible. But it realy abotut the wording every federation has in its papers. World Aquatics changes their policies several times (especially after Mazepin "solved the issues" persoanlly - as witnessed one russian Olympic champion)   Inoirtnat notes on FIS decisions:   FIS points are frozen for ruissns and belorussians - so the situation is not so complicated for a lot of them. The list of the AIN`s is not final as the list from ISU was. It means that persons mau be not only removed from the list but added as well. I expect russians to try some freestyle applications before the stage in China, for example. FIS has not problems with the deny of visa or entris by the host countries. So they kept the possibility to close the doors for the russians for all the countries as ICF did. No sanctions for this, no removing events from the Olympic qualification list, no host changes,   * * * * * Here is the the relevant extract from FIS papers for Aerials tram event. What do you think?
