Remco Evenepoel once again showing his utter domination

He was the only one in the lead group to do any real work and then when it was time for the sprint....he didn't even get out of the saddle and still the rest could do absolutely nothing against him :d  (26:30 in the video for the last 300-400 meters)

Spoiler

The fact that Tour de France is really held in France is the only thing that as Italian I envy to the Tour...

The Tour de France quite often starts outside of France. Tour and Giro both started outside of their countries five times since 2010.

Tour de France:

2017: Düsseldorf

2015: Utrecht

2014: Leeds

2012: Liege

2010: Rotterdam

Giro d'Italia:

2018: Jerusalem

2016: Apeldoorn

2014: Belfast

2012: Herning

2010: Amsterdam

Honestly I didn't remember this, but Israel, Denmark, Northern Ireland and Netherlands are surely border country with Italy... to be honest, it is not that I'm against the "brand development" of the Giro, but the southern part of Italy, where I live, is usually out of the way, in some years the Giro doesn't reach southern than Rome

Why do you keep doing that? It's not like it is expected from commercial teams to have its all riders from their own continent. :p

Because they have been bringing themselves to the world as Africa's Team, working for Africa and focussing on giving chances to African talents, and they end up having only one or two African riders in their main teams, mostly filled with old Europeans who can't really find a place somewhere else and some random Ben Kings :p

It was much nicer when it was still MTN-Qhubeka and much more focussed on African cycling. The more Kenyans, Eritreans, Ethiopians, Rwandans and Ugandans in road cycling, the better :d

    • There is a saying to never trust a Russian in gymnastics. Well, ex-Russian turned Bulgarian Elvira Krasnobaeva is transferring now to Armenia.   The "official" reason is for personal, family matters, but in reality it's most likely because she wasn't selected for Paris, which angered her parents. Even though she is only 16, had her breakthrough just this year and started making mistakes, when they amped up the difficulty.   Our Federation's President Iliana Raeva said today, that she received calls also from France and Azerbaijan about Elvira's mother basically auctioning her. Raeva mentioned, that Krasnobaeva was going to be a vocal point in the next Olympic cycle, but now she can hit the road and missed her chance to ever compete for Bulgaria, even if she wanted to in the future.    We are also going to make a new Group from next season. After the disappointment in Paris, 4 out of the 5 girls announced their retirement.
    • true, but was expecting India to get troubles from Australia, not from New Zealand, and specially not by being bowled out. Makes the group phase interesting though
    • The 4th best team in the world beating the 3rd best team in the world is not a huge surprise though.

    • Tried to open a new topic for the Women's World Cup like the one for Men's but i guess the common thread will have to do it for the girls ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Anyway, some interesting matches on this first four days i would say, especially the defeat of India agains New Zealand.
