Time for the first training in Baku...

Let's hope everything will go alright, but I've got a bad feeling about this weekend.

If you'd like to help our fellow Totallympics member Bruna Moura get to the 2026 Winter Olympics, after her car crash on the way to the 2022 Olympics, every tiny bit of help would be greatly appreciated! Full story and how to help can be found here!

Why? Are you afraid of terrorist attacks?

No! Because the track is so extremely tight in some places...

I'm especially afraid about turn 8, where they pass some sort of ancient tower. Also parts where they reach speeds of 340+ with only a relatively small place to avoid the walls. I really hope I'm wrong, but I would not be surprised to see a very serious accident there this weekend. Especially in GP2 which is of course full of young guys wanting to prove what they can do.

Ah yes, you're right. I saw the practice 2 yesterday and indeed, near that historical castle really is a tight corner. I predict we will see the safety car at least twice tomorrow...it's impossible to not see accdent in this race.

On the other hand, the design of the track looks fine :)

The design looks a whole lot better than basically every new Tilke-racetrack :p

Well it's time for the first GP2-race right now, let's see how it'll go. We are as always represented by Daniël de Jong but only God knows why he's still driving in GP2.

Me, as match as I can:thumbup:

I bought myself a good amount of snacks yesterday, got the drinks ready (non-alcoholic because alcoholics won't help me stay awake for 24 hours :d ) so let's go!

SC in, but not every marshall got the message and halfway on the track they were still waiving SC signs only to suddenly take them away and wave green flags

And one lap later Pic makes a mistake and takes Markelov out of the race. New safety car, 3rd in 8 laps

    • Their database is too poor for them to be able to accurately do this.
    • Yep, confirmed.  We have Marcelletje for , Lindsay Vonn and Lucas Pinheiro Braathen for .   However, Vonn and Hirscher will be wild cards, so starting down with the Chileans and the Iranians in the first leg.  Snow conditions are good though.     Vonn, Hirscher & Braathen Returning To Racing At World Cup Opening - InTheSnow

    • GOLD FOR MOL/SØRUM!!!!    WOO HOO!!!      Phenomenal match this was, the Qataris played really well too (their ball control really let them down at the end though)   Probably one of the best finals I’ve ever watched (Hamburg Elite 16 in 2022 between Bryl/Łosiak and Meeuwsen/Brouwer was another)   What a grind it was from them to come back from down 10-13 down in set 3, also having to save 2 MP’s.
