What a race  

 

Mostly boring, then an incredibly dangerous tyre issue threw it around....and Hamilton  

 

Quite idiotic to have the restart with two laps to go, that's really just asking for things to go very wrong, luckily that didn't happen (for Hamilton, sure, but no damage).

 

Bottas was riding for Red Bull as well today, I assume? What a fail, again..

Red Bull basically did to Mercedes what Mercedes did to them in Spain.

 

Bottas was fuming there in the end, he didn't even go after FL since it was obvious he would lose 3rd place to Perez.

 

Ferrari 0 pts. Their two-stop strategy ended in the gutter since they pitted too early to begin with. I mean LeClerc's second stop happened only one lap after Vettel's only stop of the race

What a race, both Hamilton and Verstappen were visibly pushing the car well beyond it's limits

Max Verstappen wins at the Red Bull Ring. Hamilton had some rear end issues and only finished 4th behind Bottas and Norris.

 

Raikkonen & Vettel had a dumb crash on the last lap as the Finn didn't really look in his mirrors.

 

A rash of 5 second penalties for forcing driver off track (2x Perez, 1x Norris) and crossing white line at pitlane entry (2x Tsunoda).

Too bad that Norris could not keep the fantastical 2nd place.

 

But still, this race was clear advantage Red Bull. Maybe, just maybe this year there might be a champion other than Mercedes??

The real moment of truth of course will be 2022: who can prevail under the new rules?

I missed today's race because half of the season is available only on Star Action, part of the expensive Star Premium package, and there's better racing elsewhere.

Great season to watch for someone who is sick of hamilton/mercedes domination.   Hopefully it continues like that but he gotta bounce at some point (probably at home in 2 weeks)

Hopefully he'll be able to put up more of a fight than in the races in Austria (and probably he will), because those were just as boring when it's about the winner  

 

At least yesterday it was interesting behind Verstappen.
