Interesting, this was probably "weakest" Serbian team in last 10 years, but they won medal. But probably 5-6 players from this team will not play anymore They had luck really 

 

So, next European championship is in 2021. So sad. FIBA

But really referees on this championship were disaster. Congrat to FIBA ULEB have best referees on the world, but hey FIBA don't like ULEB.

 

btw if you did not know, ULEB will bans players if they play for national team in qualification for world cup 2019 (players from EL teams). Same for NBA. So, qualification will be like some amateur competiton. Again congrats FIBA. Basketball is generally in a serious crisis and the solution must be found as soon as possible

Yes. Now is EC on every 4 years. Same for World cup. Like Olymics. FIBA is one of the worst federation right now in the world.

I read that there will be separate qualifications for World Cup which will affect it badly... Continental championships appear to be meaningless

And will EC have ANY quota for at least OG since FIBA wants own World Cup qualifications?

No EC is now not important at all. Teams probably will qualify for OG via world cup and olympic qualification tournament.
