Cross-Country Skiing 2017 - 2018 Discussion Thread

Competing is both XC and alpine skiing is indeed rare. The only other recent example that I can remember is Arturo Kinch.

I imagine Azzimani will be quite a pro on downhill sections, comparing to the rest of skiers from such nations.

We talked about basically every detail of the race, but I haven't heard a word about this...time to send some messages and wake someone up, we want explanations

Explanation: in the hardest downhill, they all sort of lost control and went out of the course. For Bruna and Mostaço it was only a very short distance outside of the markers (on the outside, so no cutting corners), Gabi and Dominguez were outside of the markers for a while longer before being able to get back, which means they got a yellow card/written reprimand, whereas Bruna and Mostaço got away with a verbal reprimand (they only lost time with this of course anyway).

Meanwhile, my F5 button is nearly broken, waiting for results from Bariloche/Cerro Catedral

 

 

I really hope Bruna can sort of take revenge after that horror race last week. One small problem: her brand new competition skis were the subject of a logistical mistake, meaning they stayed behind in Chile and she has/had to compete on her training skis today..

No idea (yet) what happened to Gabi, that's one big difference...

Also, look at 16 year old Catalina Gonzalez....last year in São Carlos in Brazil she was far behind the rest, but apparently the reports from the training in Bariloche/Cerro Catedral were correct, she improved a whole lot 

Maria Dominguez has to start watching out for this girl..

Today was a good day for Bruna, a really, really good confidence boost to close out the South American snow season 

 

 

Only 19.2 seconds behind Dominguez who is very familiar with the rather technical course there (where she trains a lot, and Bruna had barely ever trained before), after an exhausting few days/weeks....she said she'd give everything today because it's my birthday and she crossed the finish line nearly dead so that's good
