Damn Solano. Wanted to see the Ecuadorians :(

Also there was another Venezuelan (only!) 5 minutes faster than Solano.

The Russian press are reporting that Solano saw snow for the first time five hours before he started his race,

Don't know if it's true but it's a great story

I do know it was the first time he was standing on snow on ski's, so it's not unrealistic..

I actually went and wrote the Israeli Ski Federation- they said that if I fund myself and get Israeli citizenship (which I am eligible for) they will give me a platform to race in FIS races, and start funding me if I get 'elite'. :p

Time to hit the gym. And I might move to the Northern Hemisphere in the next year.

Get yourself some rollerskis now then and start working on the technique :d

They're not even that expensive and as long as you've got a decent road somewhere, you can go out and train :p

I thought about that. But well $200 min plus shipping to New Zealand... Keep in mind I'm still in highschool! :d

And there isn't really anybody in my city who runs courses for this sort of thing.

Julius Yego learned javelin throwing through watching YouTube videos and became world champion, come on, 'there are no courses' is no excuse :d

The expenses are the harder part then, but if I were you I'd seriously consider putting a few dollars and/or euros aside each month so you can buy yourself some decent equipment when you're back in Europe :p

I think just the regular roller skates and poles can do a trick. :d At least in the early stages.
