Three riders in the lead, followed by a huge 30-40 rider group. Meanwhile the peloton is almost 9 minutes behind already. 

 

Some interesting names in the big group, of course Teklehaimanot and Berhane attacked (independence day), but also Jan Polanc who's only 12 minutes behind in the GC.

So you've got 35 riders chasing Brutt and Mohoric and yet Brutt and Mohoric keep winning time on them

The huge group is now 5 minutes behind Brutt and Mohoric, unbelievable

Well, that's the end of Brutt for today. Couldn't follow Mohoric anymore, gasping for breath, apparently even vomiting....see you 30 minutes behind the rest at the finish.

Dumoulin descended faster than Nibali and Quintana yesterday in the final descent

I don't think he is there, because no way they would let him be at 3 minutes and the group at 13. It's probably Conti.

Both Polanc and Conti, actually   (and Costa, so UAE is having a busy day with Mohoric in the lead as well)

It's making me remember Voeckler in the Tour years ago, when all of a sudden he took the yellow jersey by being in the right breakaway and then kept it forever and ever until eventually the real GC riders managed to beat him

Oh and Polanc is well and clear in the virtual white jersey now so Quick-Step is gonna work
