X Games China, good idea, bad in real life.

Athletes have already gotten in trouble in shops, stakeboarding in streets, and at Disneyland. I know the youngest athlete there got his skateboard confiscated, and then his dad got in trouble for filming the police.

I want to meet the person who suggested we send anti-culture, western millennials, and free spirited athletes to PR China and thought this was a good idea.

I know China isn’t as strict as people think it is, but even I knew that they’d have trouble.

This should be an interesting week for X Games.

10 year old Brazilian boy is making some waves in the skate Vert competition. He’s on the verge of making the final. Should he medal he’d be the youngest X Games medalist ever, but there are quite a few elite athletes here that could challenge him for that title as they’re younger.

this is history! my friends...:yikes::bounce:

:ITA Ivan Federico won the men's Park competition and he's the first ever Italian born rider (of any discipline) to win a X-Games event! :yikes::champion::cheer::bowdown:

moreover, he was the only non-Japanese skater to win one of the Skateboarding Olympic events (Yuto Horigome won the men's Street, Aori Nishimura won the women's Street and the 12-year sensation Misugu Okamoto dominated the women's Park, as usual)...

here are the medal runs from that epic contest...

http://www.xgames.com/video/27322135/medal-runs-men-skateboard-park

if we consider this event the real thermometer of this sport, the Olympic medal table in Skateboarding would be something like this:

:JPN JPN,  3 / 2 / 1

:IOC IOP,  1 / 0 / 0* :yikes::facepalm:

:USA USA,  0 / 2 / 2

:FIN FIN,  0 / 0 / 1

*following the latest (very sad and idiotic) development of the Italian political scene (yesterday a law that goes against most of the principles included in the Olympic Statute was approved by our Parliament), there's a very high chance that Italy won't be part of the Games in Tokyo and all the Italian athletes capable of qualifying as individuals will have to live their Olympic dream under the anonymous Olympic Flag (and they will have to listen to the awful Olympic Anthem if they win a Gold medal)...:cry::facepalm::wall:

Big Air is most certainly Medlova’s best chance for a medal in Beijing. She needs to be a bit more clean, and figure a way to up her difficulty again.

    • 1.3 million tickets sold or 88% of the available tickets with only one sport 100% sold out which is.. ski mountaineering    https://sportetsociete.org/2026/02/22/milan-cortina-2026-succes-confirme-pour-la-billetterie-olympique/     Sure, it didn't have the most tickets to sell, but any good publicity is welcome for the sport's future olympic status. Unfortunately, we don't have a full breakdown by sport. I imagine ice hockey have sold the most, following by biathlon perhaps ?

    • My proposal:   Skimo: Only a long distance race   Freestyle skiing: remove dual moguls or make it somehow different than regular moguls Like more focus in first to finish than technical score, otherwise it doesnt fit for a parallell format. Remove team events in freestyle.   Alpine skiing: take back individual  combined and remove the team event (but if they keep it, only allow one team/nation)   Curling: consider to include a singles skills event    Cross country skiing: can be kept it as it is but if they would consider removing team sprint, replace with having one sprint of each style. They could also make 50 km as individual start, and skiathlon should change order of free/classical between each championship.   Luge/skeleton/bob: remove relays. There is already team events (2men/4men)   Figure skating: remove team event   Speed skating: replace team Pursuit with a relaty format. Remove mass start.   Short track: remove some events, maybe relay, maybe 1000m or something.   Biathlon: like the current programme but to be honest (and my proposal might be controversial) the Pursuit is maybe the best event showtime who is best actuslly over 6 shootings and in a combination of individual start and head to head but it is strange to give out medals for both sprint and for a following race with handicap start. Like the winner of round Robin curling would get a gold and then a new good in playoffs. Why not have a Pursuit based on a shooting contest or something instead of a previous medal event?   Consider to include new sport: Bandy
