Let's check out the diving situation...

We get 4 per gender, with the opportunity for 4 more.  Note: The only guaranteed ones are synchro events, so we have to earn the individual ones.

Opportunity 1: Top 8 in any individual event at Budapest 2027.

Opportunity 2: Win the individual events at the PanAms in 2027.

Opportunity 3: Score lots of points during Stop 1 or 2 in the WC in 2028. (They fill up the rest of the quotas here.  And this is the only chance to earn a synchro quota...but we get one duo in each event, so no worries here.)

Paris 2024: We won Silver in W Synchro Springboard, P4 in the M Individual Springboard (Carson Tyler).  We did qualify two athletes in each gender for the individual events, so I'll predict we'll have a full team here.

Currently diving in Canada...it's been going on all weekend, but I just found a livestream from Canada: https://www.youtube.com/@CBCSports/streams. The M Individual Platform is about to begin (the last event).

I'll mention results after this last round.  Just wanted to let you know in case you wanted to catch it live.

Another good weekend of diving down in Fort Lauderdale.

Luke Sitz and Quentin Henninger taking Silver and Bronze in 3m

Josh Hedberg took home Gold in 10m

Henninger/Ryan took home Gold in 3m Synchro (and were just a few points away from what the Bronze medalists did in Paris in 2024...really, I was impressed...hope to see more of them).  Sitz/Sollenberger took home Bronze.

Glasberg/Weinrich got Silver in Synchro.

Sophie Verzyl took home Gold in 3m

Bayleigh Cranford nabbed Silver in 10m

Verzyl/Kwong nabbed Gold in Synchro 3m (Sturgill/Witte with Bronze)

Synchro 10m was the one event we didn't medal in (came in 4th out of 4...just missed a bunch of dives)

I just finished watching the W 3m finals.  Sophie Verzyl (who is from Columbia, SC!) was very consistent, and her score would have earned her a Bronze in Paris 2024.  Love a hometown success story! :)

And finally finished the M 10m.  Leyton Dean is just 17, but he finished just 9 points off the podium.  (Would've been 9th in Paris)  One to look at in years to come!

(Hedberg, who won gold, would've been 6th.)
