Throwback to 1996 when I went to the Netherlands/Nicaragua baseball game in Atlanta. I was only 10, and I don't remember it much...but at least I can say I've been. (A member of the team that won bronze was randomly from my small town, and I remember he came to our church to speak, and I either got to see, hold, or wear the bronze medal.) -

good first outing by our guys dominant performance on the mound, it took a while to fet going on offense, but when it happened, all of our power and depth came out -

Sondre Guttomrsen clears 6.00 for the first time since nearly three years ago to the day......and then clears 6.06 on his final attempt for a new national record and to become equal 6th of all time .[insanity given that there was a foul for him as early as 5.70.]pulled out then to give manolo the best chance at 6.20 with the most energy possible.He also now becomes the men who has pole vaulted the highest to not win a comp,taking it off of Karalis who went 6.05 at last years world indoors for silver. Speaking off Manolo..... 6.06 win today on countback and two extreamly close attempts at 6.20,you really can't be any closer to making it over that than what he did today.the height is very much there.Mondo classic is in four days.Six men have gone over 6.00 or more this year so far.and it's looking like Baptiste thiery is the most likely next canditate to join the rapidly growing 6 meter club. -

Martina Sablikova did so today. It was awesome, goosebumps when in her last lap of the 3k she just got up and started a well deserved lap of honor with a standing ovation from the Thialf crowd. Like she said, there's no way she would say goodbye anywhere else. So odd, literally more than half my life I've seen Sablikova as part of all major championships. What a legend.
