Unbelievable how two years in-a-row the wrestling and weightlifting Euros are in the same week..  I swear these people don't see the calendar and want to drive away the few fans, who still enjoy these sports.

however, once again the Weightliftiong Europeans are a 2nd tier event, with many withdrawals and still the old weight classes, which will be changed for the Worlds in China in Autumn

:ITA will enter only 2 men (Massidda in the -65kg and Ficco in the -88kg) and 8 women (but not all the top lifters)

    • Women's 19-14 win over  was their first win of the season. They went over 30 matches without a win !! Mind you, to be fair, they only just managed to sneak out the win and were helped by the fact that South Africa had a player sent off.   The Hong Kong Sevens weekend is always mad and you can rely on seeing some weird and wonderful sights as you travel on the MTR. Highlights this year included a couple of life sized Labubus - they must have been sweating up a storm in those things.

    • I know that, but I just wanted to show the pathology of Orban's power system that he did something like that for a public money.
    • Bellandi now has the Big Grand Slam in judo:     - Olympic gold (2024), - World Championship gold (2025), - European Championship gold (2026).     She is also the world leader in her weight class, of course.
    • Scutto's crisis is especially worry– 4 consecutive losses in first rounds this year are difficult to understand, especially considering she's our World Championship gold medalist last years and our main medal olympiscs hope with Bellandi in women.   The men's team is celary weaker without Lombardo and Parlati, so it was difficult to expect success here– fortunately, Pirelli had a his day of life today

    • just on the edge...    saved their ass on the very last day thanks to the one and only European, World and Olympic Champion, Alice Bellandi, and to the surprising Gennaro Pirelli, who had the day of his life and finally won a global title   still, it can't be denied the epic fail of the first 3 days, when quite a few athletes heavily underperformed (especially the 2 most expected youngsters, Valerio Accogli and Leonardo Valeriani)
