The period between Olympics is more fun on here than the Olympics proper anyway, at least IMO.

(generally I find the Olympics themselves to be the worst time to be an Olympics fan, ironically)

It’s that peaceful period when you don’t have to stress about qualifications, quota allocations, or the actual events.

Baseball Qualifying Event next month lol

Hey everyone , now that the Olympics are over just wanted to make an announcement that I'll be taking a break from posting on Totallympics for the most part, and watching sports. Mentally these games have broke me in so many ways, and I need time to reset. Not sure for how long, at least a week, but I'll be back for the Paralympics.

I thought taking time to reflect over the past week and a half, it would make Grondin's silver feel better, it didn't at all. I still think about it all the time and it hurts. Just upset, frustrated, and disappointed that he was a photo finish away from gold... again, and I'd trade half of our medals for the colour to be changed.

Not to mention Canada only won 21 medals, 5-7-9, which is our lowest total since Salt Lake City 2002 with less events, but whatever I got used to it half a week ago...

Kudos to you bud, I don't think anyone was happy with the performance by Canada all tournament, but we all stayed on until the end. Take as much time as you need.

I will be sticking around, a lot happening this year anyways. Athletics in general, commonwealth games, football world cup and world championships in many sports. Im not going anywhere.

    • Unfortunately, we lost our promotion today and to France... I don't believe in a 3win against Hungary on Friday. A 3 win today would have been enough to qualify But it's also embarrassing that we're up against 7-8 playersfrom Canada/USA, and we're losing to France, where there's no naturalized one They're simply at a higher level than us. Without promotion, in 2 years we'll be at the level of China, because. We lost a huge opportunity today. I'd rather win today than at the Olympics, because qualifying for the Elite is crucial for Italy and the Olympics are over and irrelevant. I'm actually surprised how France gets female hockey players without naturalization to perform at such a high level? The sport isn't popular there at all- this isn't Germany.

    • Glad it could be of service...it's not mine, but someone else on Reddit had made it.   Also, I currently have a slot now where I can log in and buy tickets (which I'm not going to do, since I bought earlier with my wife's slot), if anyone has any questions.  (Good until Friday at 10am Pacific Time, which is GMT-7)
