Who would have thought we would be begging and pleading to even get remotely close to our medal total in Beijing coming into these Olympics.

We're not getting anywhere close to Beijing's total medal count, that flew out the window days ago. We'll be lucky to get to 20. But, there's a good chance to surpass the total golds. By one, maybe two. Yay! Yay?

Funding

And, I've been saying for years, an army of sport psychologists. A country that has so many consistent near-misses, and favourites that just flop on the big stage, has more going on than just not enough funding. Although, obviously, funding could pay for said psychologists.

And do you think they will consider this a crisis for winter sports after these games and step it up or will they continue doing what they are doing?

Ehm,  what happened after Beijing 2022 is your answer

If Canada wins gold in hockey no one will even talk about it. If not, there might be a conversation, but probably not. Especially with the recent surge in the SOG.

Of course now everyone sucks in the big final.

I was just looking back at our best winter total ever in Korea and we had so much depth and variety across so many disciplines. And we are non existent in sliding, figure skating, cross country skiing and biathlon. that’s what really hurts. And the rise of Japan in freestyle skiing and snowboard  has taken so many potential medals away from us. Their youth program is so good. And then we will be retiring all of our speed skaters after these games lol. And where we really excel is short track the most volatile of the sports.
