How Many Medals do You Expect from Your Nation at the Winter Olympic Games Milano Cortina 2026? Road to Milano Cortina 2026

Cheering for our southern neighbors to win a medal (hockey & Fialkova being the realistic options  ).

Actually, TV coverage will be huge here, the main TV channel will broadcast lot of things live

The promotion done by CazeTV on Instagram is strong.

I hope they don't just focus on sports where there's a chance of a medal. I hope that Curling, Hockey, Skating, and the 50 variations of skiing also get a lot of attention.

Does Brazilian media even realize who Braathen in? Or just typical Campeonato Carioca/Paulista news in January? :p

For me, it's great to live in a country where there are no expectations, and if you win something, it's a celebration for a big event. On the other hand, as a fan in the USA, you don't really get any joy from those medals because you win 5 or 6 every day in the summer, and probably 2 or 3 in the winter. When I lived in Poland before 2000, winter was a similar situation: no one expected a medal and any place in the top eight was a major success. That changed after Małysz show up, but it was still just one person- an outstanding master, but only one.

Hah! I suppose Slovakia doesn't pay attention to speed skating much :p I live close enough to the southern border to get old Czechoslovakian TV off my ground antenna back in the day (Nova TV even in early 90s) and the Zakopane/Jasna OG bid is viable even if there is literally one road from Krakow-Balice airport to Zakopane hehe.

Forget A Je To! or Krtek, I even recall hazeni houbou in Hip Hap Hop :p

Certainly, any Brazilian who wins will receive a lot of media attention here in Brazil, even if it's in Alpine Skiing. It also helps that he's dating a well-known actress from the country's biggest television network.

Of course, it's difficult to reach the level of stars like Gabi Guimarães, Rebeca Andrade, Isaquias Queiroz, or Hugo Calderano. But I would say that for a tropical country, he's more popular than one might expect.

Well, you Italians are quite pessimistic, from what I see.

At least you have the statistics on your side; the host country always does its best at home.

naaa...our friend goes beyond the concept of "pessimistic"

I really hope one day he can change his attitude and enjoy the sport a lot more than focusing on who's going to win and who's going to lose :pope::dunno:
