Great to see the Poles coming out again for their Wisla round.  The atmosphere is on hand as usual.

With all due respect to Norway, Finland and Sweden who have invented these sports, but in the last couple of years it's painful to watch the starts in Scandinavia with 30 people in the stands.. It is always a shock how barely anybody goes out to watch a WC round in a historical sport for that nation. Same goes for the cross-country, Nordic combined races we had. Only biathlon managed to pull a nice crowd in Ostersund.

Tbf these are pretty.small towns, really.

I wish it was the same for women's competition. But due to the limited space, FIS forced their way to host them in Thursday afternoon and Friday morning.... Otherwise the men's competitions would have been cancelled.

And I presume people have first class travel available to these places. The point to host such events, for these resorts, is usually to attract tourists and fans.

If you are hosting a WC round only one or two weekends a year, then I fail to see how there aren't at least 1000 fans in the whole country that can't plan on going..

Finally a good day for our ski jumpers, as we ended weekend in Wisła with two places in top10, Tomasiak ended on 5th place, and Zyła being 7th (he was 2nd after first round). Again very good result for both Zografski and Foubert after being in top10

    • I clearly understand this reasoning.   I even can say when this "wrong turn" had happen exactly - during another Olympic truce - in 2008 when russia annexed part of Georgia. The world did not react properly and it was a clear signal - the international institutions are to week to defend the values they proclaimed. So the current system of international relations is being actively ruined by the leaders who are plaing themselves over the institutions and laws.   The IOC and IPC are the international institutions too and they faced with the same challenge. It looks like their choice is "money" but not "values".  That`s why those speeches about the Olympic values by Coventry make me sick.   I really do not know how the IOC and IPC can reinstate their reputation now. Ok, they can just wait and join the winner. But they have no any guarantee that the outcome of the war which is getting global will not bring absolutely new world sport structure. Too many "black swans" may happen to predict. Furthermore, Coventry looks to be absolutely incompetent for this position.

    • Plenty of people here as well who would, in the same line, want to see USA, Iran, Israel (Sudan?) banned, for example.
    • A "government" boycott is not the same as an ATHLETES' boycott.  All it means is that the Ambassador will not be shown on TV waving at the Team when they walk in.  Many Governments including  &  boycotted the Sochi ceremony, for example.  How did Putin respond? By invading  the day the Olympics ended.
