Meanwhile, I see that the ISU has yet to post the world standings so it looks like I'll be doing the calculations myself.

Again, why did they remove the previous results system again?

Yes, very irritating. Last year it was briefly offline and then resumed, this is really frustrating.

:CAN Dandjinou is just having a disaster of a week

Like Jens van 't Wout. All of a sudden this 17-year old White Tiger that's gonna win most of the 1.000 and 1.500 meters this season and a very unpleasant illness. At least Dandjinou has a gold medal (and after the men's relay probably two).

How good Sauralt has become in the sprint!! Boutin always was, but I didn't quite see Sarault coming. Big competition for the Velzeboer sisters towards Milano-Cortina!

I’d be surprised if he doesn’t win double gold at the Olympics next year. The only way he loses it is if he lets the pressure get to him as a youngster.

Sarault has been having the season of her career so far! Her 11th race of the season (won all 9 at the Canadian Championships) and is still undefeated !

And not anymore.

Still, a very promising 5th* in her worst event.

When you start from the 5th position in a 500m, you basically have almost no chance of a medal unfortunately, let alone a victory

It is a miracle but they published some standings.

What will be used for Olymic qualification?

    • There will be specialized double sculls...just not for an NOC if it is entering singles specialists.   Either enter 2 singles specialists, or 1 XD specialist pair.   But they can in theory compete in both events, I guess, if they qualify...our top M, I think, does both.   But there are 17M, 17W, and 30 Pairs allotted in the quota, so I don't think the intent is that every singles entry will be in doubles.   (Perhaps this gets to fall in line with Weightlifting, where due to max entry quota, an NOC can't enter in every event, even if they have the best athletes...here, unless you have a pair who qualifies in both.)

    • I read the Olympic qualification documents for weightlifting. A country can have the opportunity to send a maximum of 4 athletes in one gender, but the conditions are very strict.
    • world champion Jessica Schilder opened her season up with 19.78 in France.
    • wait! what???   so, there won't be specialized double sculls, but those boats would have to feature 2 single specialists if a Nation wants to enter 2 proper singles M+W??? tell me I misread the expalaination...
