Currently no Indonesian speed climbers showing up on the Registration page...maybe they're still populating that list?  Or does anyone know why they might not be going?

With almost a month to go, I would assume they simply haven't registered yet, but there should still be time and I'd certainly expect them to be there. Unless @Griff88 has read anything else in Indonesian media :p

Also worth noting that Brooke Raboutou isn't currently on the list with her American compatriots.  I know she was taking some time off, and perhaps she decided to let this one go.  (No shame in that.)

But Janja is there.  :)

Actually, I just saw in the regulations that the deadline has passed: https://d1n1qj9geboqnb.cloudfront.net/ifsc/public/xwjumx8d1qt3sf6iwqi94dsa1ch6  :mumble:

And, Indonesia has competitors in Lead/Boulder registered.  Perhaps didn't want to do World Games + IFSC WCH?

  • 3 weeks later...

And on the men's side...

:ESP Alberto Ginés López

:JPN Neo Suzuki

:JPN Satone Yoshida

:USA Colin Duffy barely makes it through in p20

Some big names didn't make it through...Toby Roberts, Yannick Flohé, Sascha Lehmann, Max Bertone, another one of USA's up-and-comers Jesse Grupper

Boulder qualis today...

Probably the biggest upset was Sohta Amagasa from :JPN not making it through on the men's side.  There are a few athletes towards the top of the roster that I'm not super familiar with.  Happy that two men from :USA made it through (Colin Duffy and Ben Hanna).  Toby Roberts :GBR did make these finals. :)  I know he'll be happy.

Two American women also made it through, Annie Sanders of course, and Melina Costanza, whom I've never seen climb, I don't think.

W speed qualis/finals tomorrow!

    • I will do my best to organise a pairs competition also involving nations from the 4 teams that are eliminated in the first half of the team competition along with the lowest ranked individual nations at the halfway point (end of session 2) to form 8 pairs. Pairs will be balanced so that the highest ranked nation in the competition will be paired with the lowest ranked nation, second highest with the second lowest and so on. All of that will be based on the individual ranking at the halfway point.   This way every nation will have at least interest in some event until the end of the 3rd session.   I will probably base it closely on @mrv86‘s proposed rules, and have sprints every 3 rounds of votes. The pairs with most medals from those 3 rounds get the points along with an extra bonus for medal and points doubles.   I do only have 1 day to organise this now so I can’t promise anything though.

    • The two-woman quota is based upon the "combined" ranking. The 6 best monobob + 6 best 2-woman results are taken into account at the moment (7 once this week's WC race has been raced).  Weiszewski competed in Europe Cup yesterday in the monobob, finishing 2nd, which gave her 110 points. This was her 7th monobob race, so this result replaced her worst (80 points), helping her leapfrog Cernanska by 8 points. At this point I guess she's in a better spot, as she's got the same room for improvement in the two-woman today, while Cernanska probably won't compete that well in the WC.
