 We’ve had a lot of disappointments too, don’t worry.

But today was awesome :d

To follow recent tradition: tomorrow's/Monday's sports headlines please, if they even make any mention of this :p

Not sure if we even have any dedicated sport newspapers. In terms of online stuff:

CBC Sports

Nothing on TSN and Sportsnet you have to scroll pretty far down :p

First ever gold for :CAN

I’m sorry what? This was not the world championship I was paying attention to today.

Meanwhile there will be no Polish men in the elite road race for the first time since 1968 (when amateur WCh were held in :URU Montevideo  ).

Not because of a lack of quality though, of course :p

But yeah, some relatively big countries are finding out how the pro cyclist life often sucks for riders from African countries (who I'm sure still have a way more difficult time racing in Europe than vice versa).

Right, today the men's road race and finally, on the very last day of the championships, we'll see the amazing Mur de Kigali. It's such a shame that wasn't part of the main lap, it's basically the thing I was looking forward to the most, but here we are, we get to see it at least once. Half of Kigali will be standing there, if the Tour du Rwanda is any indication.

Aaaand we're on the way, only 265km to go :cheer:

One of the nicest days of the year in cycling, also one of the days that go the fastest. Feels like it is so long to go and before you know it, we have a world champion.

Did the French team snort cocaine en masse at breakfast or what the fuck are they doing?

Alaphilippe attacks with 250k to go, within 7km both Paret-Peintre and Seixas attack as well and drop Alaphilippe who seems to be done already with over 240k to go :d

The fuck. This way we'll reach the finish with like 5 riders who don't record a DNF.

Very typical Alaphillipe thing though: he clearly isn't well, so he does some crazy attack just to ensure he makes the broadcast, entirely in Voeckler style.

Ouch, flat for Madouas, right in the middle of the decisive part of the race with only 239km to go.

Pidcock already in massive trouble as well.

    • I used to think Johnston(e) - from some place John build (aka stone for building something hehe).   I'm not familiar if Scottish or Irish clans are named after such clan founder or a place?
    • i'm triggered,legitimately thought kennedy 2.0 happened,just way more out of nowhere
    • Perfectly obvious.    Johnson = son of John Johnston or Johnstone = From St John's Town ie Perth in Scotland.
    • Nope. Azu missed out by 0.01. Bromell lost silver by 0.001!
