The next events will be (february) EC and World Cups (still 3 from March). Long break.

So the whole Champions League thing is over? Also March is a bad month to have three events in track, since the road season is picking up.

Italians used to be the masters of sprint tactics, but since they took the 25-minute track stands out of it, they have struggled.

unfortunately, it's not because of that...😭

The fact that there isn't even a velodrome in Italy doesn't help.

actually, there are a lot of tracks, but they are all 400m outdoor tracks

however, now Montichiari is working for the elite groups training

so, no excuse

the real problem is that all the guys want to ride on the road, track cycling is just plan B (if not C) because there are no full time track clubs (and among the men the always present military corpse just don't pay enough, even compared to a C class road team)

They will open another one, but I don't remember where.

Generally, the sprint section never runs on the road, so riders like Predomo and Vece (whose performance was probably the best of his career in Kerinin today) have to train on an indoor track. However, without huge investment in technology, you have no chance of competing with the fight of the Netherlands or the UK as a team. Individually, there may be a chance, for example, in the Keirin, but that's all.

Final Medals Table was hard to find, Wikipedia seems to be the only place to have it.  Using the scientifically-recognised Ranking by Total Medals method, :GBR run out the clear winners with 14 medals, :NED a gallant second with 13 and :AUS :DEN :NZL tied for third with 5 each.
