Something to do with things like grip and how easy you keep gliding. Difficult ice can be 'slow' ice or, what in Dutch can be called 'working ice'. Requires a bit different kind of rider sometimes, some are way better at super fast ice while others are stronger on this tough kind of ice.

Yeah, I realize about a slow ice and I think he meant some different gliding technics.
