I'm sure everyone in Italy are ecstatic to open already with 2 medals in the first event, but that downhill win would have been a dream start to the Games. -
But still his friends from team can be disapointed. -

A 2-round downhill on the Stelvio would be carnage, and not necessarily in a metaphorical way I think the only guy at the start with an outside chance of spoiling the podium is Elezi Cannaferina. -
Congrats to Von Allmen, to me he is really the prototype of a downhill racer. I believe he was clearly the one with the best time in his legs, the issue was whether he would ski clean or not. He has been perfect, and it was clear when he crossed the line his time could not be beaten (I was actually a bit surprised Franzoni was quote close). I hoped for gold today, but I think the current podium is the best reflection of the athletes’ value.

It will be more interesting with 2 rounds.
