Can't you see in ijf judotv free? although the buffering and advertisement are annoying.  No live is availabe as I know except IJF, and replays are in youtube (above semifinals I guess)

On JudoTV I need to pay 25 euro for this event only  (and mind you, IJF always sees the team competition not as part of the world championships, but as a separate event, so that's another 25 euro for that single day)

I can watch live if I want, Dutch NOS has a live stream, but on-demand seems to be only on paid JudoTV.

all prelims should be free for every Country on Judo.tv (only live action -but also with some rewind on the timeline) :mumble:

Thanks. I'm afraid that won't help me, unfortunately (I'm fine with skipping most of the prelims and watching from the QF's or something, and live simply won't work because of time). Too bad IJF still thinks judo is such a big sport they should charge money to watch, federations like FIL and IBSF are so much better in terms of showing their sports to the public.

Yep, the whole thing is a mess now, across many sports.  Here in :GBR we have just lost Triathlon after many years being FTA on the BBC, which helped grow the sport hugely here right from the era of the Brownlee Brothers.  I'm sure some stupid argument about charging between the BBC and ITU.   At least Modern Pentathlon has seen sense.  I'm just presuming that Rowing, Bobsleigh and Luge have got sponsors generous enough to keep the show going FTA.

Posted (edited)

despite being her first tournament after the Olympic Gold, :ITA Alice Bellandi is still the machine we used to know :cheer:

she's easily through to the gold medal match vs :GER Anna Monta Olek in the women's -78kg class

in the men's -100kg, instead, the amazing :AIN Matvey Kanikovskiy will face :JPN Dota Arai for gold

    • Shades of 1998 with  and  in the same group but this time it's really a terrible draw for the Thistles. I recall Brazil and Scotland played in the same group in 1974 and 1990 too so that's quite a high probabiliy rate.

    • I think I can live with the draw , not a bad group at all. just a week ago our mafia coach said his dream group is Belgium, Egypt and Haiti, he almost got that !   but it's really hard for me (and so many others) to cheer for this team, A mafia boss coach, disgusting group of players. I never had this feeling about any NT in any sport before but still the national team is the national team. you have to like it  coaches and players come and go, the team is what matters.   if the team makes it to the competition, I'm sure there will be lots of Iranians in the stadium despite the orange's ban, that will never be a problem.
    • Belgium is the luckiest in this story
    • One of the worst possible draw for us. Group really easy but having to face  or  in the Round of 32 is devastating.
