Yeah, not doing the big outdoor events sadly.  The cycling criterium will be a great race.  Can't go wrong with archery & bowls though.  Football might be good as well, the Orkney v Shetland derby match goes back well over the century.

Probably because the island belong to the Hanseatic League & then Teutonic Order which only sold it to Sweden

Early start for the Badminton.  Unlike in the Olympics, where there are only three courts, Orkney offers six.   

 

On islands with some of the world's highest wind speeds, people tend to prefer indoor sports.

Streaming working well for the Badminton but they haven't managed to get the bowls working yet - obviously the  fast-paced all-action nature of the sport has broken the modem.
