Don't know if World Canoeing are going to continue with their "Let's make sure no-one watches the Sport" strategy this year, but there's a European Cup meet from Slovenia this weekend.  Featuring all the snow from the biathlon course a few weeks back melted and pouring over rocks & dams.

a couple of days ago, the Team titles went to  (women's K1 and women's C1),  (men's K1) and  (men's C1)

as usual, quite a curious way to open the season...straight with a major title up for grabs

 

for what concerns the  team, not a good championship: quite a good number of boats qualified to the finals, but no individual medals

in particular, disappointing outing for the 2024 European and Olymnpic Champion in the men's K1, Giovanni De Gennaro, who paid a high prize to a mistake in the semifinal race and couldn't even make the final...at the same time, Xabier Ferrazzi was the closest to win a medal among the Italians (he finished in 4th place, always in the men's K1)

it will be a very tough competition between him and De Gennaro to earn the Olympic spot in 3 years time

 

 

p.s. @hckošice I'm really surprised to see that both the  and  TV networks completely ignored this event (I know that the Hockey Worlds are on, but this isn't an excusation...at least, it wasn't in the past)

No idea my dear frined, no idea. But, many things turned to bad lately here so nothing can surprise me anymore so..

What surprise me is the czech TV not interested by this as well though
