A brilliant meeting overall, especially with the one-two punch of Warholm and Jefferson at the end.

 

Warholm, in particular, went way beyond my expectations. I thought the question would be whether he would break the 47 seconds barrier or not, but instead he ended up running the third-fastest time ever (the fastest outside of the Tokyo 2020 final).

 

On a side note, a pretty awful performance from the Italian team, the only exception being Fabbri's 22.10 m in the shot put (although I think he could be consistently above 22.50 and occasionally above 23 m).

 

Iapichino had one of her worst competitions in recent memory (which is odd, because she doesn't reach the peaks of Mihambo or Davis, but she is very consistent), Simonelli did not even finish the race, Sibilio was terrible and Tamberi is still a thousand miles away from the ideal shape (he also had a baby a few days ago and acknowledged his head really wasn't in the competition).

And seemingly was going even faster in the final until she hit the fifth hurdle.
