If I say what I think about some federal executives of the Italian Winter Sports Federation, I'll get a lawsuit.

On Colturi, it was her and Ceccarelli's choice, I will still consider it a wasted opportunity. But even if she came back to compete with Italy, I would not cheer for her. Everyone makes their own choices, and Colturi preferred the freedom of having sponsors and private teams.

Goggia and Brignone also already have private teams, so the federation is actually only responsible for the results of Bassino and Curtoni at the top. The way our federation works on the example of slalom I think that us to assume that Colturi's talent could also be wasted...

Nothing will come of this Italian slalom. It's getting worse every year. The Italians' style of riding is simply not suited to the current times. It's too slow. One Lara Colturi will earn more points for this 2nd place than the entire Italian men's and women's slalom team by the end of this year... I would give money to the Colturi team than to the entire squad of these mediocre skier.

Croatia, Bulgaria and even the UK have skier in the top 10 today. The UK doesn't even have mountains with snow. Can you fall any lower than we do? If the UK had mountains like ours they would be the best in the world.

This Finn trains in Norway. It would probably be better to send 2-3 of our juniors to Norway, pay the local federation and let them train there. Maybe something will come of it. We should have given money to the Colturi team and now we would be in a much better situation than we are now. France: 2 win for Clement, 4 place for Amiez. You can see that there is progress and we? 19 Vinatzer? This is a joke.

A very ignorant statement.

Of course the UK is not exactly known for its winter sport but there are some ski resorts mainly in Scotland, like the Cairngorms or the Nevis Range.

Such a nice one for Colturi :ALB! That was fun. It almost looked like a script with the cameras focusing on Colturi a couple of times before her first run and showcasing the potential of youngster and she didn't disappoint.

I hope Colturi skis for Albania forever. So much fun to cheer her with the Albanian flag.

I don't get it why everyone is being so critical of Colturi, you got no right to criticize a personal decision, as most European nations use imported athletes in many sports like wrestling and cheer them on like their.

Would you spend hours criticizing Frank Chamizo for switching to Italy rather than playing for Cuba?

Speak for yourself. Why should we give up our one great talent of the younger generation when we have no one else? Maybe from the same reason that the USA didn't give up Schiffrin to another country when she had 17-18...

Argentina also has ski centers on the Tierra del Fuego but that doesn't mean it will immediately become a powerhouse in this sport :)

Not counting Colturi the last time an Italian women skier stood on the podium of the World Cup in a special slalom was in 2011:

-Manuela Moelgg: 4.01.2011..

The last Italian victory was:

-Chiara Costazza: 29.12.2007...

In my opinion the best slalom skier on the Italian team is still Federica Brignone, who doesn`t trains in this discipline anymore. If she did, she would probably easily beat skiers like Peterlini, Rossetti or Della Mea. I don't understand why we have such problems in this competition? Bad training methods, bad coaches? I fear that Colturi would also be reduced to mediocrity by this hopeless Italian staff, who are unable to train an athlete for a dozen or so years to reach a single World Cup podium. Radical changes should have been implemented long ago, because the current state of affairs doesn`t guarantee any progress in the near future...

    • I think I can live with the draw , not a bad group at all. just a week ago our mafia coach said his dream group is Belgium, Egypt and Haiti, he almost got that !   but it's really hard for me (and so many others) to cheer for this team, A mafia boss coach, disgusting group of players. I never had this feeling about any NT in any sport before but still the national team is the national team. you have to like it  coaches and players come and go, the team is what matters.   if the team makes it to the competition, I'm sure there will be lots of Iranians in the stadium despite the orange's ban, that will never be a problem.
    • Belgium is the luckiest in this story
    • One of the worst possible draw for us. Group really easy but having to face  or  in the Round of 32 is devastating.
