Men's Volleyball FIVB Nations League 2025

Don't know what is it with Canada, but they always manage to bring out our worst play. :wall: Just like with the women the prior week, a near perfect opening round could have happened, if it weren't for the CAN loses. Now it's still a very good start compared with our previous seasons, but the feeling that we could have done a bit more is lingering..

And especially for the men, if we had started 3-1 it very much could have guaranteed us a playoff spot, given our remaining schedule, which still hasn't happened, since they changed the World League format.

I mean to be fair, neither team was favoured in their matchup (even with Gray out, maybe the men’s team could’ve performed better but still...)

Of course, nothing to take away from the Canadian teams at all. Like you mentioned, it's a very balanced matchup, but it seems CAN always gets the upper hand in the end. Definitely one of the more unfavorable opponents for us.

Freshly back from the match with Japan and holy smokes :woohoo: We played superbly, probably haven't played like this in 7-8 years. The hall even though isn't as big as the one in Sofia, or even Varna, had an amazing atmosphere, that no doubt played a big factor in match.

It's incredible how deep Poland is in men's volleyball right now. Even without most of their stars, they're still doing a lot of damage to a full-strength Italy.

Most of them are not young players like Szalpuk, Semeniuk etc. Another thing is that the Italians played terribly today and this first team recently struggled against Canada in friendly matches.

Yeah, struggling against a Canada B-team with two 5 set wins is a bad sign if you’re Italy.

De Giorgi now has practically the best possible squad + Rychlicki (or Russo can join because he trains in Italy). From this year on, there should be no more excuses but for now it looks bad. Previously, this team played without pressure, because it was young, but now it's different. To win a World Championship medal, we will have to beat France in 1/4...

Another great match from Bergmann and Honorato, they are getting better and better. I'm curious to see how they perform against Italy and Poland. If we can somehow stabilize our OH position I think we will have a competitive team.
