Team GB Daily: Day 14

Neah Evans really didn’t look in the form needed for a medal in the Omnium

She's been on a downard spiral since 2022, the same thing happened in the Worlds win in the Madison last year where Neah was dying in the last 20 laps of the race, thankfully that day Elinor helped them to just cling on. Don't know how some predicted Neah to get a medal and even challenge for Gold in the Omnium.

Very valid, perhaps best odds on bet 365 could be the comparison metric?

Maybe, although bookies will always set the odds - assuming that they are not idiots - to try and encourage the most betting, rather than necessarily accurate predictions.

Not a great metric, i've made good money of the bookies these games, they had GB team pursuit women has favourites when it was clear they wern't, niche  olympic sports is apparently not their speciality. Triathlon relay they had us as favourites as well, i did not win money on that one but for obvious hayden wilde related reasons.

And GB gets a lane infringement in the women’s relay. Not clear if dq’d yet.

They've already DQed the Swiss. So I suspect we're in the clear in the judges eyes right now. Doesn't prevent another team putting an appeal in obviously.

So in conclusion, using predictions and the return as a measure of success/comparison is a fruitless task and we should go back to just being pleased with 54 medals?

You're allowed one.

As now we come across the world
To share these Games of old
Let all the flags of every land
In brotherhood unfold
