The 2024/25 edition of the UEFA Europa League will follow a new format

 

From the 2024/25 season, the 36 clubs will participate in a single league competition in which all 36 competing clubs are ranked together.

Under the new format, teams will play eight matches (four at home, four away) between September and January.

 

The top eight sides in the league will qualify automatically for the round of 16, while the teams finishing in 9th to 24th place will compete in a two-legged knock-out phase play-off to secure their path to the last 16 of the competition.

Teams that finish 25th or lower will be eliminated, with no access to the UEFA Conference League.

 

 

Kick off on 11 July 2024, with the final at Estadio de San Mamés in Bilbao (ESP) on 21 May 2025.

This year, with new format, there will be no relegation teams from UCL in knockout round

 FSCB qualified in the next round after defeated PAOK last night, 2-0. This is the third win against PAOK this season of Europa League, we beat them in the group phase as well FCSB will play Olympique Lyon or Eintracht Frankfurt in next round. Huge congrats to FCSB. Romania is proud of them

Quarterfinals thrilling and also a drama (for Lazio)

 

Lazio won 3-1 but lost at penalties with Bodo Glimt

Bodo make history, become the first Norwegian team to reach the semifinals of a senior UEFA men's club competition.

 

Manchester Utd 5-4 Lyon was the first nine-goal game in Europa League history.

Manchester lead 2-0 first half, Lyon came from behind to lead 4-2 in extra time, and Manchester won with 3 goals in last 7 minutes
