:CRO Donna Vekic beats :SVK Anna Karolina Schmiedlova 6-4 6-0 in the second women's SF.

Zheng will be a favorite in the final but it's women's tennis so anything can happen.

Vekic has been stable at a high level for two big tournaments at row.

Yes, it's been no surprise on grass but very much on clay. Let's see how Zheng does as a clear pre-final favorite. Despite being Top 10 ranked she's not used to playing in this position and Vekic has nothing to lose having overachieved in this tournament already.

:AIN Andreeva/Shnaider (first time as a pair) defeat :CZE Krejčíková/Siniaková (Tokyo Olympic champions and winners of many major double titles) in two sets (6-1, 7-5) and advance to the semifinal!

They could be the only AIN medal in Paris 2024? I don't know about some of the other sports though.

I do not know if anyone else has noticed this but the tennis TV scoreboards have been behaving strangely. It shows Tsitsipas as unseeded today . A few days back it was having a hard time pointing to the correct server :p

Yes, it's been terrible, and some Greeks who don't closely follow tennis now might think Tsitsipas was unseeded or something

At the beginning of the event it was worse, the scores kept not updating or we had to keep score ourselves and the cameras after every few points would show the scoreboard in the stadium. Sometimes there were no scoreboards on screen at all...

Sad for Tsitsipas, he wasted 3 set points on serve in the second set against Djokovic, but maybe with a better draw he could've snuck a bronze. He probably won't get another Olympics on his beloved clay. Oh well...

They have real chances for 3 medals tomorrow, in men's single sculls in rowing and two in trampoline gymanstics.

It wasn't a draw thing, and i would say his draw wasn't bad at all. He never reached his potential because of his backhand and his limited mental strenght, if you look at his better results, most were against players of his level.

    • There is a saying to never trust a Russian in gymnastics. Well, ex-Russian turned Bulgarian Elvira Krasnobaeva is transferring now to Armenia.   The "official" reason is for personal, family matters, but in reality it's most likely because she wasn't selected for Paris, which angered her parents. Even though she is only 16, had her breakthrough just this year and started making mistakes, when they amped up the difficulty.   Our Federation's President Iliana Raeva said today, that she received calls also from France and Azerbaijan about Elvira's mother basically auctioning her. Raeva mentioned, that Krasnobaeva was going to be a vocal point in the next Olympic cycle, but now she can hit the road and missed her chance to ever compete for Bulgaria, even if she wanted to in the future.    We are also going to make a new Group from next season. After the disappointment in Paris, 4 out of the 5 girls announced their retirement.
    • true, but was expecting India to get troubles from Australia, not from New Zealand, and specially not by being bowled out. Makes the group phase interesting though
    • The 4th best team in the world beating the 3rd best team in the world is not a huge surprise though.
