:GBR/:ENG bow out of the Nations Cup in the semi finals with a 2-0 loss to :GER.

The loss to Estonia yesterday ultimately cost them dearly so they ended up facing Germany in the semi-finals rather than the final. In an added galling twist, :SLO - who we defeated yesterday - will contest the final after they managed to overcome :EST.

Hate to say it, but don't think the Bello brothers will have a spot in the draw for Paris.

Fucks sake, this is something we didn't need. We've already missed out on qualifying in other sports we qualified in in Tokyo, we could've done with qualifying in a couple sports we didn't qualify for in Tokyo. Even this now doesn't even seem likely as we now need a minor miracle from the Bello brothers in the last 3 events to qualify in this. So disappointing as I have tickets for 2 men's beach volleyball games in Paris and would've liked to see the Bello brothers compete in front of the Eiffel Tower.

One of the many disappointments of the Paris qualifying window was the Bello brother's missing out on a spot in the beach volleyball. They'd been showing some good form and were increasingly able to hold their own with some of the best teams in the world.

Hopefully we'll see them in LA in '28 and the first step on that journey is this week's European championships where they are seeded 18th and have been drawn against:

:ESP Herrera / Gavira 15th Seed (World Ranking 17)

:ITA Marchetto / Windisch No.2 Seed (World Ranking 75)

:AUT Schnetzer / Kindl (World Ranking N/A - scratch pairing)

Looks like the top 3 in the group qualify for the knock out rounds.

Bello Brothers have completed their pool matches and have shown pretty form in their 3 matches.

Opening against :ESP Herrera / Gavira, they were unlucky to come out on the wrong side of a 21-23 / 26-24 / 17-15 result. They bounced back today with wins over :ITA Marchetto / Windisch (21-10 / 21-12) and :AUT Schnetzer / Kindl (21-15 / 21-16)

They currently top the pool although :ITA v :ESP match is still to finish.

Herrera/Gavira  :ESP finished top of the pool, with the Bello Brothers second, meaning they progress to the knock out round.

The next match is against Rotar/Gauthier-Rat :FRA tomorrow.

    • Yeah, same here, this weekend definitely doesn't have nothing     I mean, so far I've seen lots of racing with cars, motorbikes and regular bikes, college football highlights, ski jumping, mountainbike and so on. But the most important thing of the weekend for me (MotoGP/2/3) being in the early morning is lovely because it opens up the day so much     And yeah, Christmas is usually fun to take a look on Flashscore.com, especially the first day is the one day in the entire year where the whole page is almost entirely empty, with only a bit of football in very few muslim-majority countries
    • Wow! 5 goals in less than 3 minutes for  so 3rd place for them.   4th place.      7 - 1
    • Wish I could say the same, for me it’s rare when there’s a day that there’s absolutely nothing on for me to watch There’s even stuff on Christmas (NBA and NFL), although usually in the days leading up to it there’s less sporting events going on.
    • Gravel world championships     And ski jumping Summer Grand Prix, just finished catching up on an insane season of Red Bull Rookies Cup, still lots of NASCAR to catch up with and with this weekend being a bit of a slow one in terms of live sports (and the MotoGP/2/3 things being in Japan and so being done and dusted by 9am my time), it's so far been a weekend with lots of catching up
