As I understand it, the winner of each group will be given a bye through to the round of 16: Position 1 - Winner of group 1 Position 16 - Winner of group 3 Position 17 - Winner of group 4 Position 32 - Winner of group 2 Winners of groups 5,6,7 & 8 will then be drawn into positions 8,9, 24 & 25. Group runners-up will be placed in the opposite half of the draw to their group winner and will play against a 3rd placed team - this cannot be a team that they have already played in the group stages. Siddhartha Talukdar 125 Posted February 20 #36 Share Posted February 20 Just a question on team rankings. Why do teams who qualified for 2020 Olympics have ranking points from 4 tournaments while rest have points from just 3 tournaments. This skews the rankings towards those teams qualified in 2020

Some nations have only two results as they didn’t participate in the World Championship. Some nations have only the singles ranking. Seems logical to me. Rafa Maciel 1,259 Posted February 20 #39 Share Posted February 20 looking at a DSQ for one of their players in the final group match of round 2 - because the racquet/bat failed inspection. That would give the tie to but nobody really seems to know what is going on. If that is the case, & would all be tied on 2-2.
